3D? Yeah, I guess so too. People ain't buying anything that's not made of crappy polygons at present day.

Anyway, Larry's dead. And last time we saw him was in LSL6: Shape up or Slip out!
And yes, I know there was seventh part, but I consider that as worst one in whole series, seventh part should have name "AniLarry" or "LSL7: Trapped into cartoon".

Larry 7: Love for SALE. The crappiest LSL game ever, but part 5 came pretty close.

LSL had some pretty funny stuff. Thus, it is the best LSL, imo. As for the new game, I dont think that it will match the previous ones, for it wont be made with al lowe.

Problem about LSL from 5 to 7 was that it became stupid cartoon... I prefer first two parts, especially AGI-one. It was a game not meant to kids, and lack of gfx helped player to imagine hs own Larry... thus Larry 7 was already too childish...
Somehow, 6th part was pretty serious.
I think that it's about what *i* loved about Larry -- semi-grownup jokes with *reasonable* amount of stupidity. There was none of these in later sequels!
Just look at the picture in previous post - whatthef*ckisthat?! A freakin' Disney character!!!! >:(

I've been hearing that complaint a lot. It's interesting how people seem to reason: family of Graham main character in KQ = okay, family of Larry in LSL = bad.

I think information at this point is too scarce to justify gun-jumping. I think the approach taken is a smart move to avoid the main problem with sequels; people who haven't played the previous chapters will think twice about buying it because they're afraid they won't get many of the references or they're afraid of getting previous parts of the storyline spoiled. (and no, there's no way in heck you can convince the average XBOX-gamer to play through some age-old parser games or DOS-based p&c-ers)

MrC knows what's up.  We really have almost no information on this game, so if possible please try to refrain from bashing it so soon.  I'm not saying it'll be great but it's simply too early to say.  It's not coming out for over a year IIRC anway.

I say this.
All things change overtime to appeal to a new people. This is true for Clothes, Movies, Music, Food, Technology, ect.
If the market is changing the product will change to suit it.
This is true for games aswell wheather you like it or not the games we all grew up on are different from the games you'll see on the market today.
Now Mr.C has the correct attitude towards this game. Sort of a "Dont knock it till you try it" approach. Some of the things I have heard in many forums are people bad mouthing the most recent installments in adventure game series for not being half as cool as the originals, Being 3d when the original wasnt, and (this is true for LSL and MI and many others) They turned the game too "cartoony".

Now I know that if anyone is reading this they must be adventure game fans otherwise why come to the AGS forums. So yes I'm sure we can all agree that the originals were great games. But as more people are crossing over to the "My games have to have a cool 3d environment and alot of blood and violence" mentality the developers have to try to do something to attract new players, while still trying to keep the gameplay and style of the originals for the old fans.
In a way its a good thing that they are turning cartoon and 3d. Think of it this way, If you bought a new game that you honestly loved, then you found out that it was part 8 of a series what is the natural thing to do? you go out and buy the other 7 (or 6 as the case may be).

Now about LSL8 I can only see and hope for good things. Yes the fact that Al Lowe is not involed it a major down plus it technically isnt LSL but look it might be a great game in and of itself.  Plus it will definatly bring new People to the great Adventure Genre.

PS. this was my rant for the week

I liked the trailer.  I even dug the hard rock version of the theme tune. I was a bit annoyed when I first read about the change, but I guess I'll reserve judgement until it comes out.

I think that's a rather silly statement, frankly.  I can't think of many peple over the age of about 10 who'd find such failed puerility as was present in the LSL games amusing, wheras I can think of many cartoons which are genuinely intelligent and/or witty enough to appeal to the majority of adults.
