Can some ppls give me some ideas for good story lines.
Working on a sci-fi detective genre. Lots o grizly death scenes, cults and alien invaders. My story line lacks progress as our detective character accepts a special ops assignment to investigate alien activities by way of infiltrating their home planet.

I'm way up for all types of crazy technology, our character did travel between galaxies to get to this planet & most technology is stolen from aliens...

This is for a project called 'Manhunter: Titan Star'. A fanmade sequal to the 1989 Sierra online release "Manhunter New York & Manhunter SanFransisco".
The series stated "To be continued" but no sequal was made...

I understand people might need help with storylines in specific points if they're stuck or whatever, but dude... write your own game. I wouldn't want to play a game that's written as the product of brainstorming on a forum. It's your game...

I agree with the Greek - make the game your own, though millions may not notice - it would be a shame if your synopsis was produced by a forum. You should write a synopsis and as Helm says, come back and ask for specific parts of the storyline or puzzles.

"Sci-fi detective game" has huuuuuge horizons... Brainstorm a load of ideas to yourself, have a think about which of those ideas could be taken further - then try and take them further, see if a fuller, thicker plot can be formed out of it. If it starts to suck, try one of your other ideas.

Game design shouldn't be any different to films. A film would've been written over 6 times before it's shot, so theres no reason why a game cant have a design that is then completely reworked or revamped to make a better product at the end of the day.

You could start by making a 10 room mini game... You could alwyas do it in parts, like part 1 - characterisation of your detective, part 2 - an introduction to the worlds/world he's in, part 3, a full on case... etc

Good luck :)
