Well, if you're looking for a non-AGS horror game, try out Roberta William's Phantasmagoria.

As I am to young to buy things online with a credit card, I am looking for AGS, AGI and the like. Unless of course it is on the underdogs. Thanks though.

Well, some of the various Horror/Adventure type of games that I've enjoyed (though some of them may not be considered strictly "Adventure"), you might check out the "Resident Evil" series, the "Alone in the Dark" series, I also liked "Dino Crises 1 & 2", and "Silent Hill" series. Well, that's just a few I can think of right now, though I've played tons more of Adventure games over the years.. I'll probably remember some more later.

A few freebies that you might like:

In the Dead of Night:
http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=536

Beneth a Steel Sky (It's sort of a Sci-Fi type of adventure, but does have "thriller" moments in it. I enjoyed it, and it's now freeware):

Mourir en Mer (I've not had a chance to play this one yet, but it looks like it might be something you're looking for):

Ã,  Ã,  Okay, I'm sure lots of other AGSers can come up with more good suggestions for you.
Enjoy.Ã,  :)

These are not for free, but heck, some of these are practically abandonware by now - and although I think using EMule and stuff is a naughty thing, I can't stop you. But I'd really advise you to BUY these, as they're all quite good.

Sanitarium
The Dark Eye
Gabriel Knight 1,2,3
Phantasmagoria 1,2
Black Dahlia
Shivers
DarkSeed 1,2
The X-Files
Alone in the Dark (action/adventure)
Shadow of the Comet
Prisoner of Ice (never tried it, actually, but I've heard it's quite good)
Anchorhead - freeware IF game
Babel - freeware IF game
I Have No Mouth and I Mustc Scream, which has become a recent topic of discussion. Never played it either, but sounds good...
Harvester
Frankenstein - Through the Eyes of the Monster
Enclosure - a freeware AGI game

...that enough? ;D

Is enclosure the game that had the great movie-like teaser, and the story is on a remote snowy place?

I remember having The last half of darkness on an ancient shareware cd. Maybe I'll scan it then show it here.

7th Guest and the sequel 11th Hour were pretty good. I remember playing 7th guest for the first time a long time ago. It was late at night and I had one little desklamp on. That was some freaky stuff with that spooky music in the background.

You would probably have to buy them though. They're both worth it in my opinion. You could try to find them for download somewhere, but I doubt you could and if you did they would probably be kind of crappy because they had a lot of live action movies in them.

arcane is my pesonal favorite, its a good horror mystery game
www.arcanegame.com (http://www.arcanegame.com)

;D ;D ;D

and steppenwolf:the x-creatures project
www.steppenwolfgame.com (http://www.steppenwolfgame.com)

they are not downloadable just online ;D
a lot like a lucasarts game but with little humor
if you click too many times a cutscene will play where something creepy happens (arcane only)

Hm. Though lightheated at some early points, I truly ADORED Shannara (sp?) which was based on the series of books of the same name. What a wonderful game....

(I'm so sorry -- I thought I'd seen a comma in the message title, making it "Looking for serious, horror/thriller adventures...". Shannara's not very horror or thriller-ish, but is fairly serious at points.)

7 days is a little different, though. It's on a spaceship and there's no Trilby. The atmosphere is different altogether, although there is one part of the game which keeps you in a constant state of panic.

People already mentioned most the games I had in mind (Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill, a few others) but, unless I missed them in the lists some how, some games I liked were...

Clock Tower: First Fear
Clock Tower
Clock Tower 2: The struggle within
Echo Night

In my opinion 5 Days a Stranger and 7 Days a Skeptic both had a feeling slightly similar to the Clock Tower games.
