you really shouldn't be giving out advice on how to behave on these forums...

TVLand...you really probably should have worded that a bit differently. For example, suggesting he modify his post instead of telling him he should:

"plebeo, I love the characters, but according to the forum rules you're really supposed to modify your post instead of double-posting."

Although in light of your previous actions, you probably aren't the best source of advice as to what to do and what not to around here, you are right that he should have edited his post instead of double-posting.

Again it probably comes down to the amount of time you took to think about your post really. Though you did hit on a key point, your method of execution wasn't the best. Especially considering your previous...encounters...with the mods.

As for the characters, why not post a link for each of the characters in your post instead of requiring us to visit your forums? I for one much prefer direct links for this sort of thing.

[EDIT:]

TVLand, no! Bad TVLand! Bad! Granted, if you can be taken at your word you're going to slow down on the posting a bit. But right now you're still...Okay, let's take an example. Right now you're in time-out for being bad TVLand. You're not banned from posting, but you must take great care as to what you say and do when you do post, as well as how often you post. If you can keep your insane hyperactivity at bay, then eventually you will be let out of time-out. But for right now you're still being punished for being bad before.

Even if you're doing good right now, your punishment for your previous actions isn't finished yet, so you have to be extra careful not to step over the line any more. Telling people what to do, albeit you were correct in that they were in violation of the rules, is not a good idea for you right now, because you too were in violation of the rules.

So...please...for your own sake...just try to put a bit more thought and perhaps a bit of caution into your posts.

plebeo, this could be a nice resource, thank you! You might consider posting it in the Contributions Thread (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=14864.0) in the Critics Lounge, to make it easier for people to find.

TVD:
Double posting is frowned on, it's true. Acting like a moderator is, too (yes, I realise the irony here, since I'm out of my forum...). If you're serious about 'mending your ways' (and good on you for that), maybe you should think about just not posting for a while, instead of being a post Nazi to others?

monkey_05_06, ditto on the acting like a mod. Couldn't that have been a PM?

Monkey:

The spirit of your posts are appreciated but I think your going a little overboard.

If you want to try coaching someone on how to behave on the forums, keep it private. The moderators are here to publically reprimand people on these matters.

Thanks.

plebeo:

Please don't double post. I also suggest you write a list of characters you've already provided and add them to this thread.

And we enjoy it too much to share with non-moderator types!

Some images of the characters would be nice.

I'm just trying to act good, and be a well-mannered poster for once.

Pffft! Only recently you sent me a PM saying my games "smell"! Unless you meant they smell of sweet perfume or something. Ha!

Well if he doesn't calm down he's going to get banned, so at least he's trying :)

I can't get them to work at all, in Firefox. They seem to download but won't import (error message says 'Not an AGS character file). Redoing them in IE works perfectly, though.

A minor thing, just wondered if anyone else was having this problem - I've just had to re-install  pretty much everything, so it might just be teething trouble.

I think this is a great resource for game creators who aren't artistic. I haven't downloaded these, so can somebody tell me; are these ripped from the game, or are they 'homemade' versions of LucasArts characters?

I know, but I'm trying to lead an example now. I've learnt my mistakes, I'm moving on. I'm no longer the annoying poster who can't take a hint. I'm just trying to act good, and be a well-mannered poster for once. Not like some people....

I think you're being annoying by posting that.

We have ripped this charas from Lucas games with Lucas ripper!

Then we have assemble these with Photoshop and import in AGS!  :)

Okay, that makes it a lot easier for people who don't know how to do that sort of thing, I guess.

Same thing happened to me, although I didn't try it in IE.

I too found that the downloads don't seem to work properly in Firefox, although downloading them with IETab (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/) I got it to work.

Some sort of FF bug?

Just wanted to say that I get the same error message when downloading with Firefox.

Apar from that these characters seem to be nicely ripped :-)
I always wanted to have Sam and Max as character files. Thanks!
