Title: LucasFan - Some guy is selling your MM Deluxe...
Post by: Scummbuddy on Tue 22/11/2005 01:27:43
Over here on eBay. This guy has several of the same listings where hes selling many of LucasArts games on 1 DVD (Including Indiana Jone!!!![sic])

http://cgi.ebay.com/monkey-island-1-2-3-4-and-11-more-lucasarts-classics_W0QQitemZ8234847340QQcategoryZ11047QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

He's also selling your Zak 2, I believe... or someones fan sequel.

My personal favorite is the "Please e-male me before buying".... CLASSIC!

Talk about rare games - I've never played "Day of the Tenticals"!  ;)

Selling illegal copies... Now that's fair, isn't it! Have you e-maled LucasFan about this Scummy? Just in case he doesn't see this thread.

not sure if that explains the inexplicable spelling.

It's supposedly illegal to be selling "unauthorised copies of media", and under their "example" listings, it shows: "Pirated copies of video games" is on the illeagal list... but looking through some of e-Bays listings, there's tons of that crap.
Ã,  Ã, I don't think they keep too close tabs on what's being sold if it's not "too" obvious, and as long as they're making a buck off it.
Ã,  Ã, Anyways, here's one of their policy pages on the matter and a link on that page to "Report" about unauthorised copies..
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/replica-counterfeit.html
Had to do a lot of searching on there site to find this page, and, if you do wish to submit a report, you must first sign up to have a member account with ebay.Ã,  Which kinda sux, I mean, what if you don't want to sign up to become an e-bay member just to report a problem like this?

Heh, my mom got kicked off of E-bay for including "back-up" cd's in some of her deals. So yeah, they will kick them off if reported.

Heh if you have that much money to spend on it, it's more well spent if you give them to the poor (like me).

I reported him to eBay.  It would only allow me to report up to 10 items, but, oh, there were more. He was selling movies and games that you can convert to your PSP. Hurry and buy them now, before they're taken down!!  :=

if you're willing to purchase that DVD, knowing it's an illegal copy.. then surely you'll be more than pleased to actually warez them for free.. it just seems pointless to me.

He's from the UK.  ;)  Additionally, if you view in the original language, it reads the same.

I reported to eBay as well.  If they were real copies v. all crammed on one DVD, it'd be quite the tempting auction.

I remember seeing this a while back, they crop up on eBay pretty regularly.
If I didn't already have them all, things like "e-male" certainly would've put me off.
