What did you make of the FMV games of the 90s? And, can they be made in AGS?

You could say almost the same about any adventure game, though: Click something > Play an animation.

Oh, I don't think that's true. I think there were some genuine attempts to really create a new form of expression, but reality/budgets/technical limitations hamstrung most of them.

To my mind, FMV games still remain a more successful experiment than e.g. attempts to introduce AI characters into adventure games.

Quoteit's true that games like Her Story look intuitive and interesting. But maybe that's because there are no other FMV's being made whatsoever ;)
