Alternate Way to finish SQ4

This is what I found on the web:

It seems like there is a second way to finish Space Quest VI. I believe it was supposed to be part of the game with  more clues for it, but then it took to long to do or whatever, since some of the inventory items have the pictures of others. Probably because They weren't finished. I used the Disk version of the game, so it's possible that it won't work in the new CD-Rom versions. Okay, so that's how it works:

Space Quest XII
Do everything the normal way since you get to the landing bay. Go to the SP-Dispatch and enter the timepod. Write down the code that is displayed, and then type the displayed code, but with the last and the first "letter" replaced by the "?"-symbol. Press Enter.
Press the small red button to open the timepod. In the street with the tank, look at the tank and take the unstable ordnance. Enter the timepod and press the "?"-symbol 6 times. Press Enter to get to Space Quest 5.

Space Quest V
Press the small red button. Use the normal way since you get to Galaxy Galeria. Buy new clothes. Then, go to the Software store and give the unstable ordnance to the alien to get a piece of paper. Go to Sacks and look at the paper in the inventory (it looks like the wrapped chewing gum). Use one of the robot mannequins and take the clothes. Look at the clothing in the inventory to get a small book, which you will look at.
Use the normal way to get the money from Zondras ATM card. Go to Buckazoid Bills Arcade and escape from the Sequel police as usual. Go to the Arcade and enter the timepod. Enter the code that you can see in the small book and press Enter.

Space Quest II
Press the small red button. Go west and talk to the monster. Pick up the stone on the ground and use it on the monster. Pick up the slime. Walk east. Use the timepod, and type in the code for SQ1. Get the matches like usual, and then get back to SQXII.
Space Quest XII
Press the small red button. Get through the lasers like usual. Go through the maze to the programming room. Enter the code to open the door and start the formatting sequence. Go to Vohauls chamber. Interact with the terminal to free Roger jr. Go to the hall with the lasers. Use the slime from SQII on the keypad and exit the room fast.

So, that's the alternate ending of SQIV. Hope you had fun!


Do you think it works? I tried it, but maybe I've got the wrong version.

It's a hoax. If it were true, hardcore Sierra fans would have found backgrounds in the ressources files and it would have been discovered a long time ago.

Yeah, seems like a hoax to me as well. We would've heard about it eons ago.
