Disco, Tier, Miez, Cat and Grundislav and I want to say:

"We're almost in Florence, thanks for being part of this memorable week in the Tuscan hills."

Dancing Hitler, blue Jesus and penis pasta - it was memorable! :D

Moretti, movie, marvellous food - great week with cool people. ^_^

Honourable mention to Gelateria Snoopy! Schultz gotta get paid!!

Best vacation of my life, beautiful scenery, wonderful food, great people as always.

It has been such a pleasure to know such marvellous & talented & nice people. Yay for Mittens 2010!

I made it to Bergamo Airport in time and I've been home for a while now. It feels strange, just this morning I was in the lovely italian countryside and now, just a few hours later, I'm in a cold and rainy Gothenburg.

It was great to meet everyone again. Also, to Francesco, Cat, Gunnar, Jake, Jen & Kimi, who I hadn't seen before. I'm very glad to have met you guys. To Mods, I think it's awesome how you involved everyone in the film, it seems everyone had a good time being part of it. Can't wait to see it finished, but I hate missing the last of the dailies :P. Oh and thanks to CJ, Darren & Marco for driving us all over Italy!

It was a wonderful Mittens and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Before I left Bergamo airport I had a look in one of the shops and was amused to find that out of all the pasta, only the penis pasta seemed popular, considering there was just one or two packages left!

Here are some of my photos:

There are more of them but there are some I didn't post in case I spoil things for mods. Also, if anyone wants them in their original sizes let me know.

Yep, I have most the same feelings as Chrille - it's a little weird to be back in the rainy Netherlands after a week with wonderful people. I had a fantastic time; both meeting new people as well as catching up with those I've met before...

Some of my pictures can be found at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/miezpiez/sets/72157624550325325/

See you all next year! ;D

PS: sorry Esseb for keeping you awake with snoring ::)

Just arrived home as well, my pictures can be found here and I'll have the videos up in the next few days, hopefully.

This was one of my favorite Mittens so far (of course they have all been wonderful) but the combination of scenery, food, and always lovely people made it great.

Caterina, Francesco, and Matt were wonderful new additions to the group, and it was wonderful to see everyone again.  Also, hopefully we didn't scare the significant others Kim and Jen too much.

Sorry to Jake and Esseb for not saying goodbye.

Bring on O'Mittens 2011!

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

The place you got this year looks pretty awesome.

And I see Disco dyed his hair for the occasion, as well!  Glad you guys had fun.

Andail

As per usual, regretting I didn't go!
There have now been more mittens I've missed than I've attended :(

Seems like you've had an awesome time, nice with some new mittens faces as well.

I got home yesterday in the morning after a nice day in Florence with Disco and Tier and a night at the train.

It was a fantastic week and I did really enjoy meeting all you guys. Thanks for the nice welcome to your group!

I'm looking forward to next year's Mittens!

Snarky

I just got back today after a rough couple of layovers in Milan and Zurich. Only got to the hotel in Milan around 9 on Saturday (Quintaros very graciously shuttling people around for nearly 12 hours straight), and only with the help of Darren's girlfriend's iPhone. Then discovered that with all my luggage, seeing Milan was not really a viable option (the hotel was too far out of the center to come back for the bags later, and there were huge lines for the storage lockers in the central station), so I ended up spending most of the day at the airport, only for my flight to be delayed so I missed my connection and had to spend the night in Zurich. Which ironically is where I'll be moving to in a couple of weeks; it was almost tempting to just stay there.

The upshot is that what should had taken one day (if I'd flown out of Rome, for example) ended up taking nearly three. And I had to give up the can of truffle oil from the wine tasting going through security. Damn!

Anyway, it was a great Mittens and a great time. Good to see all of you again or for the first time!

Sounds really rough. If there's one thing I hate, it's being stuck in airports. Glad it sounds like you all had a good time, though!

I got back yesterday after a night in Bristol airport, glad to be home but definitely missing you folks and the scenery (and pool).. It was great to see oldies and new people alike, it was a lot of fun. Everyone was a real sport with helping on the movie so thank you very much! Special thanks to Quintaros for all your driving, it was a real life saver, sorry I didn't drive on the last day - I was still paranoid after I drove on the wrong side of the road on the first day :P Thanks CJ and Marco for also taking me places! I should specially thank Gunnar too, not only for your epic contribution to the movie but also for allowing Mittalia 2010 to happen for me. Send me the bill :) Thanks to the translators too, Bici, Grundy... le te te :)

The place itself was lovely, plenty of space and comfortable beds, just a few annoying mosquito bites and a moving toilet door frame the only real problems. I spent yesterday downloading all the footage and working round problems. There's an issue with audio which I've been trying to clear up (and explain) but til I've got it fixed heres a 30 second low quality teaser of the Italy stuff without audio - http://www.screen7.co.uk/junc/bj2_tease.wmv (1.4mb) I had a nice chat with an Italian lady on the plane home and explained what the villa was all about - and she asked if Ben Jordan was Jewish ;D

Now I'm back to my shitty PC with all its problems and erasures it makes me glad for what we had at Mittens 2010...well, okay, steady internet connection wasn't one of those things! The games at show and tell all looked fantastic, so thanks for bringing them along. Thanks for playing the quiz too, well done to the winners :)

Another highly successful Mittens, great crowd and good discussion and activities. I hope everyone else makes it back safely and yes, to see you at O'Mittens 2011 :)

Am I missing a codec or something or is that movie clip supposed to be like a slideshow of stills?

Awright! The official (and aptly named) Mittalia feedback thread!

It was great meeting up with all the fabulous regulars again - you do make it worth the long and somewhat arduous trip every time! As for the new Mitteneers (not referring to the mixed vodka + whisky (which I didn't like BTW, burnt too strongly in my throat - and my throat is quite resistant to alcoholic burns)), you where the icing on the cake - hope to see you again next year (in an Irish castle or wherever). And Gunnar, I was relieved to see that my concerns about the linnen where unfounded - as where my concerns about the toiletpaper!

It was a divine vilal in a divine area - just the place where one would expect god to turn up - and god apparently has wikipedia access, so that means that not all internet access in Italy is as wonky as in our villa, right?)

My trip home was an expërience all of itself - shortly after Lucignano I ran into heavy traffic, when I finally got to Arese for the Alfa Romeo Museo Storico, I arrived that asturday around 17:00 hoping it qouldn't be closd for feeding time, like the supermarket. Butit turned out to be closed during every weekend - not that that mattered much though, because if I'd arrived a few days earlier or later it'd still be closed - all of August until the 29th.
I had considered getting an extra hotel because the trip to the museum had already taken up much time, add the museum visit itself which would have taken up even more time, and my planned night in Basel might just be a trip too far - especially with all the extra traffic jams I got in, insteaad of wasting more petrol standing still very often I spent a few hours standing still on the parking space, and when traffic looked milder (only slightly so) I went back on the road again - and I programmed my Garmin to seek the nearest hotel - which went quite disastrously.

The Garmin kept telling me to take a certain exit, when I did, it would announce it was recalculating my route (as if I'd taken a wrong turn), then tell me to turn back, and I ended up going back up and out of the same exit time and again), so I kept going back to the motorway, and cancelled my plans to go to that particular hotel, instead I kept on driving (on mostly empty motorways - thank goodness) to the hotel in Basel. I was told a room would cost me €55, when I got there at 4:00, it turned out to be €64.88 and the next morning I found that breakfast cost €11. On the way to Mittaly I stayed in a big and posh hotel in Germany (Sporthotel Moselblick), which cost me €0.12 more, including a proper breakfast and a bathtub in my room (more accurately, in my room's bathroom).

Anyway, I got home  at 18:00 after my stupid satnav guiding me from Switzerland through France, Germany, Belgium and finally! Holland! (I had set it to give me the fastest route, which in France sseemed to run through these 50 km/h village streets - let's have a big cheer for modern technology! 'cause that might just be teh last one anyone gives for the time being.

And if my Synology's Photostation won't let me down, you should be able to find my photo+film-collection  on http://home.ooijer.com/photo stupidly enough, it seems to not want to allow anonymous access as of yet - but keep an eye out - I'll keep on trying to stubbornly fix this, so one day (/year) I might just get it to work.

Edit - fixed it now, and you can leave comments by clicking on the "Commentaar toevoegen" - sorry, chaps (& chicks), this software is in Dutch

There should be more to it than that...but not much! Here, try this version instead:

Sorry to hear that, this is why I never use sat-navs! Map and brain is far better technology, even if you can't reproduce a Walken voice in your mind!!

Hah! You weren't paranoid after having been driven by me, now where you?

Thanks, that's very nice of you. :)

It's also funny to see how you're thanking us for participating in the movie - while we're thanking you for letting us play in one (if even for only some small roles), I must also say that Snarky was the star of the show/movie, in all honesty, I feel he even outperformed Ben F. Jordan.

Esseb

Wow, people haven't wasted time I see. I only just got back and there are already three photo albums up, and a Ben Jordan trailer too. Fast work, Mods.

It was great to see you all again, and to meet the new attendees also. Hope to see you all in Ireland or Puerto Rico next year.

Miez: You've got an amazing snore. It kept me awake, but was amazing to listen to.

First, sorry to break this, as only smiles and nostalgy feel my face when I read those kind of topics. But I knew it all along.. Ben Jordan's middle name is F$%&&@!. That explains so much. Also where is the movie m0ds?

I have certain information that an italian agser will have

Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Damn jealous guys.

Mark, love the trailer. Can't wait to see the full thing. It's just a shame ol' Jean Pierre couldn't make an appearance.

Mittens was a great laugh as usual; it was fantastic to see you all again, and to welcome Francesco and Cat to the fold!

Thanks to m0ds for organising the quiz and filming, to Francesco, Francisco, Jen and Cat for translating, to the Blue Bar Man for having an awesome moustache, and to Drunken Waiter Roberto for finding Jen's sunglasses. Oh, and of course, thanks to you all for coming!

Great pics Chrille, miez and Grundy! Mine are here (too lazy to caption them this year), I'll try to edit together the Mittens Movie over the next couple of months:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/mittens2010/

EDIT: oh also, I've updated the forum titles. They should all be working (except m0ds, whose title never works in the Adventure Related Chat forum for some strange reason!), the criteria is based on number of mittens attended:
1 = Mittens Initiate
2 = Mittens Faithful
3 = Mittens Regular
4 = Mittens Liege
5 = Mittens Addict
6 = Mittoholic
7+ = Mittician

Let me know if I've cocked yours up or missed anyone.
