If someone can confirm PayPal withdrawal fees relating to the US I'd be greatful.

I'm wondering if like mine it's changed now, and is completely free to withdraw any amount like it is in the UK..?

Yeah, I've offered to lay out the booking fee. As for sending me the contributions through PayPal, like I just told Mods:

According to the PayPal website, PayPal charges you 2.9% + $0.30 when receiving sums up to $3000 within the US, and 3.9% + $0.30 for cross-border payments. On a 75 EUR transfer, that's $3.24 and $4.25, respectively, so the PayPal charges in total might come to almost $100.

It's still probably the easiest way, but I'd probably want to split that cost with everyone by asking for a few bucks extra from each person.

Do we have a list of who's coming? The price per person will depend on exactly how many we are.

Seriously, I doubt anyone will feel hard done by if only 23 people turn up and we've all paid you $5 for paypal fees when it could've been $4.50, etc You're doing the generous deed of reserving the villa..

Cool...Well CJ deposit needs to be paid ASAP. Currently within 5 hours or so but I have asked for an extension til the end of this week. Snarky is kindly paying a bulk up-front amount, and hopes people can pay asap. Anyone that is able to pay it now should do so, etc. Creed says he needs to wait til payday and I won't have the euro til next month either because I'm buying a car this week. But it's more about helping Snarky out and softening the blow a bit.

At the end of the day, 24 people or not, it looks like we're going to have to pay for 24 anyway. But you're right, a final headcount and rough idea of when you can pay the deposit would be good. Based on people who've chimed in,

Yeah, I paid the deposit (I think, still don't see anything on my credit card statement), so it's just money owed to me at this point. It'd be good to start seeing some of it coming in over the next few days, I guess, more for my peace of mind than because I expect to need it anytime soon.

I assume we'll have to go through a similar process to pay the rest of the fee? When is that due? If the initial estimates of per-person cost is off, that will give us a chance to adjust.

I think last year there was only a single transfer, to Grundislav. How did that work? Did you just carry the deposit by yourself, Francisco?

Last year I had to pay the place in two payments, I paid with a check for both, and had everyone send money via Paypal.  I covered the cost of the security deposit, not including it in the price, so as not to have to worry about giving everyone an individual refund when it was returned.

Also, maybe I missed it, but what is your paypal address, Snarky?  And how much is owed?

I know it's a late mention but I'm hoping to tag along for a day or two to say hey. I'm about 90% sure I will be there for a day or two. Bring a sleeping bag for myself and crash anywhere there is floor space. I'll buy a couple of crates of beer to compensate for my sleepage in the place, if people are cool with the sound of that.

If people are happy/unhappy with this let me know as I don't have much holiday left this year hence the stay for such a short time.

Hmm, it sounds like things are a little bit different exactly the same this year, what with the payment in two stages + a security deposit when we arrive (bringing the 1500 EUR in a suitcase full of money, I guess).

Edit: Hmmm... Would it be easier for people to just make one payment, and I'd then cover both the rental charges? Up to you guys, really.

I guess we'll work out how to pay the rest of the rental and the security deposit later. For now, you should be able to send me money through this page. Hopefully there's an option there where you pay the PayPal charges, please choose that. (Stupidly, I can't actually test it since it's my account.)
