The year itself is fine, just slots neatly between  2009 and 2011. It's just that the point-n-click gods seem to frown upon Italy being the country of choice.
It's a real shame, Jeremy, I was looking forward to seeing you again! Whatever it was that needed your presence back home so badly must've been pretty bad, so double bummer - but by all means no reason to keep your GF away from us, Jeremy old boy! You alreadyshielded your date from us in Florida, remember? So you owe us this time.

This is probably the worst possible time for me to announce this (given Mark's post) but it's looking like I won't be able to make it this year   Something has come up (not with me, but I'm caught up in it) and I need to be here.  There is a [very small] chance that I'll still be able to make it so I'm not canceling any of my ticket/reservations (and don't need/want a refund or anything) because if the time comes, and I'm able, I'm getting on that plane.

To those that are saddened (I'm sure there's one or two) I am sorry.  I was really [REALLY] anticipating this year's Mittens

I've paid the full sum to the villa people, except cleaning or whatever money they wanted when we get there.

Probably I'll need more money from you guys when you get there, I haven't had time to crunch the numbers (I am insanely busy right now, mainly because I'm about to move back to Europe while also trying to finish a big project at work before I leave).

Also, if you have only paid the first part of the money to me (or like M0ds is paying in installments), now would be a good time to ante up the rest. The list of people's payments is utterly out of date and I don't have time to update it right now, so you'll have to use your own memory as to what you've paid.

Edit: Fuck it. I'm leaving this job in two weeks anyway...

I've paid 5841.68 USD in total to rent the villa. By my count we're currently 20 or 21 people, so assuming the worst case, that works out to $292 per person. In other words you all owe me 15 bucks (or possibly just $1). Please, I don't want the money now (the amount might change if anyone else drops out or joins at the last minute), you can pay me in person at Mittens. This is not including the 15 or 18 EUR per person fee they talk about charging on top; I'm not clear on when they might collect that, how, or even if they are actually going to demand it. There's also a security deposit to pay up on arrival--of course, we should be getting that back afterwards. I suppose I'll handle all of those things as well. Anyway, my current estimate is that you might be looking at about another $34 all told.

It's a real bummer that all these wonderful people aren't coming this year, but look at who is: US! So it's gotta become an awesome Mittens, right?
(even if only because the venue is perhaps the awesomest I've seen, with all deserved respect for the France and Florida locations)

Oh BTW, back on topic: are we supposed to bring our own linnen? Or is it provided/included? (I hope it is, because I won't have much luggage space to carry stuff with me and I plan on bringing some clothes too which will take up most of my luggage space, then add towels etc and I'll be fully loaded.
