Title: Monkey Island based games.
Post by: Stupot on Sun 26/08/2007 07:21:39
Hey.
I'm interested in playing some amature games (AGS or otherwise) based on or around the Monkey Island universe, but not necessarily remakes.  I have little interest in remakes but I would love to play other games that are set in the same world and expand my knowledge of the Tri-Island are and its history (even if it's unofficial).

Any suggestions?

Go play Pirates of the Caribbean.

As far as I know (anyone correct me if I'm wrong here) there are no directly Monkey Island fan games that are directly based around the universe of the series. There are some spoof-spin off games. Night of the Hermit is quite good example of a spoof-spin off because it features Herman Toothrot but the story isn't canon (neither official nor inofficial) to MI series since it mixes with the Maniac Mansion story slighlty.

jetxl: You must mean Pirates of Monkey Caribbean. Like Night of the Hermit, it's not canon to the MI-series but a mix of MI and the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Although not AGS created, there is Legends of LeChuck, and the Fate of Monkey Island series. Those were created with ClickTeams Game creator, if I'm not mistaken, and when I say created, I mean ages ago. They are bordering around 8 years old, I'm sure.

Do you have links for that? I can only find a demo for FOMI, and the site of LOLC appears to be terminated.

If Eric doesn't beat me to it, I'll put up links tomorrow... but you didn't hear that from me. LucasLegal may still care! Oh noes!

There's the Devil's Triangle and its sequel M:I-2, which is a remake of sorts but it's worth a look. They're both made with Klik n Play.

Correct, it mostly did.

You didn't expect me to pamper you some, did you? Your more recent "Lone Case" was much better, despite a couple of flaws which I let you know about (and some of which you actually fixed on an update, which is very good, shows you cater to your players), so you're evolving, which is good. But CoI is, indeed, not a good game.

(btw, if you don't want to hear this sort of thing, don't make that sort of comment)

Actually, I like to hear critic. As long as it is contructive in any way possible. I hate comments like "your game sucked dude." See you around. By the way, M-I 2 is a very good fan game though it's kinda hard to play.

I've been constructive in my reply to the game's thread. Having done that and being prompted, along with everyone else, for an opinion, by yourself, I gave it. Don't like it, don't make comments like that.

Since I can't see the expression on your face, but reading your words , I really have the feeling that you have misunderstood me in some way. Just to make things more clear , I'm summarising to:
I like critic and more yours though at certain point I wasn't so kind with you or someone else but I've seen that mistake.
