Do the first two monkey islands have talking any the game, or is it all in subtitles? I can remember that the third did, but that's it. Cheers:D

No speech at all in those first two, god love 'em.
Reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

Kneel. Now.

Just subtitles... Have in mind that the games are quite old, distributed in 3.5 diskettes, and making the game talkie could have occuppied like... 800 diskettes! :D

The last game I bought on diskettes was Discworld 1 with a whopping 15 disks.

SOMI was later rebuilt to a CD version (still no talkie), and I thought that LCR originally came out on CD...?  In any case I have the CD version of SOMI and the Monkey Island Madness CD (SOMI & LCR)...so it's all good.  What sucks is that LucasArts no longer retains any of their surplus of the first two games...hence you can no longer buy them from LucasArts.  In fact even eBay hardly contains any copies.  My parents ended up paying something like $30 - $40 USD for my copy of MIM last Christmas.  I'd only been asking them for 10 years to buy LCR for me...:D  So if you don't have a copy, good luck in your search.  Otherwise, I think it's time to replay the series!

The problem is that most of the 3.5 diskettes are corrupted. That's why I like "abandonware", because I can get games that I get legitimally, but I can't play. But that's another discussion, I guess! :D

What? My MI1 was the CD version, that didn't make for 800 high density floppies though... :=

But yeah, MI1 and MI2 were not talkies, the CD version of MI1 had  CD audio music tracks though.

I was exagerating... But you got the point...  ::)

If my math is correct you could fit 486 1/9  HD floppies onto a 700 MB CD. :=

But just one little push and the tower will fall over.

What a loser.

The first tow MI games were released together on a single CD with new music I think. Pitty they never got new voices to go with the new graphics, at least MI3 had amazing voice acting.
