Hi guys sorry if this is the wrong section I just thought I'd get more notice here, also the recruit a team thread is a little stale.
I'm in need of an additional background artist and wondered how much people would charge for backgrounds in the same style (with maybe more texture etc) as these (http://i43.tinypic.com/1o6e0k.png) in 1024 x 768.
I won't be able to pay a huge amount so wanted to know what kind of prices ranges there are as I know there's a lot of great artists here.
5 $ per Background?
Sounds fair. Have you got a portfolio or older work I could look at?

I forsee this thread being moved, but I will volunteer my thoughts. What's so stale about the recruit a team thread? I can understand that it's difficult to find an artist who doesn't have their own things going on or has time to spare. It's tough...but put yourself on the list, you might find something.
The other approach is the "scratch my back, I scratch yours" method. Maybe you can learn some scripting and help out an artist who has backgrounds but no knowledge of scripting, and then in turn maybe they'll be kind of enough to do some backgrounds for you. No guarantees but it's worth a try. Cheers.
Ah yeah that's a good idea thanks red press. I'm learning scripting myself but I'm picking it up quite quickly so I like that idea. Yeah I already posted in that recruit a team thread but to no avail.
Mr Matti can't do it any more, anyone else?

You may want to do a little investigation too, approach some of the artists you feel can provide what you need. Also think about an offer to make, it's probably a more mature way of coming across to someone rather than asking out loud how much you should delve into your pocket for. Either way, good luck. I'm sure someone will be interested!
PS People not reading "Recruit a team" thread is a myth. Hundreds of people here care to check it out, trust me :) Remember, it's a thread to read & get in touch through PM, which is why it may seem that no-one is interested.
