Movies that would make great adventure games

There was something I was watching recently, what was it...?

Ah yes, Source Code! Having the situation repeat over and over and enabling the player to get a bit farther next time by having a greater understanding of what's going on, that strikes me as the kind of thing that'd work in an adventure.

Hang on, didn't Warthogs already do that?

I think Blues Brothers would make a great adventure game. Think of that: two incredibly different main characters, nonsensical but funny plot, great NPCs, some mini-games (pursuit-scenes and stuff), plus, of course, music.
Jacob's Ladder would be good thing to do too (though there is a game based on this movie, and it's called Silent Hill).
The Seventh Seal - great surrealistic epic, it would be fun to play as Death ::).
Some old Bogart movies could make good movies too.

To think about it - this list could be really, really big.

I used to have the Blues Brothers game on my Amstrad (probably still do somewhere).
It's not an adventure game as such, more of a platformer.  You go round collecting records (as opposed to rings or coins) and the mission is to collect all the instruments you need to put on a gig, or start a band, or something.  All the songs from the film are in there. Great Game :)

Thanks Ali, Blues Brothers is easily one of my favorite movies, and adventure game based on it is my personal dream. ;) You should go & see Jacob's Ladder though, usually it is called a horror movie, but it's much more than that, one of the best Vietnam films in my book.
Talking about Vietnam - what about an Apocalypse Now adventure?

@Stupot -  hey man, thanks, I've played platformer, pretty good game (I mean, everyone love that music, you know), but, sadly enough, much of a potential is lost. Maybe I'll make this game someday, who nows. I'm going to be "on the mission from God" and stuff :D.

Evil Dead / Army of Darkness could probably make a good adventure game. Some of the shooters based on it were OK, but could have been better.

Shane 'ProgZmax' Stevens

We all individually likely have hundreds of ideas for movie to game conversions that sound great in theory.

The only way to know for sure is to write it all down and make a game.

Wesray

The Orphanage, with its creepy scavenger hunt.
THE FAR CORNERS OF THE WORLD: Chapter 2 currrently in the works...

Not a movie, but an anime series: Monster. It has a lot of plot twists and could make a great adventure game.
