I wasn't aware there was an international standard for copyright laws. Don't you think they'd be a little less enforced for amateur game development, though? Also, I though that once you write something, as long as it's original, that it's copyrighted. You don't even have to register it. That's what I thought anyway.

By the way, at what point does the cup boil over?

Google the Berne Convention. That made it international law.

I don't think you would feel the same way about this for real if you were on the other end of the stick, really. I wouldn't either. It's the same with all copyright violaters, software pirates, music, etc. It's hard to really understand their viewpoint unless you're there.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

I don't know, because I've never been a big business, and I would guess neither have you. As I said, I wouldn't steal anything from amateur game developers, but most of us have stolen SOMETHING from, say, Sierra or LucasArts and put it in our game, whether it be an icon, character sprite, or a fangame (*ahem* Tierra).

But you're right, as an amateur game developer, I concede that I wouldn't be thrilled if someone stole my stuff, but I certainly wouldn't take legal action against that person.
