So Flibble you're still working on that MI project after all? :=

I still get emails from people asking me that. I'm not even kidding.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

Ron Gilbert once told us this:

QuoteI would encourage anyone that is making *any* type of game as a hobby to keep doing it. The key to being a great game designer is to design lots of games. Most will never be made, but you always learn a lot in the process. One of the great things about working at LucasArts when I did was that all of us constantly cranked out game designs. Most were just silly, or concentrated on a single concept that we found interesting. In the 8 years I worked there, only 4 games of mine were made, yet I did close to 100 designs. None of them were wasted time. OK, maybe "I Was A Teenage Lobot" was kind of a waste.

I'd say it holds some relevance to what you're asking. It's a highly natural process to have games on the backburner. Personally I'd have to check the all of them box :P

Seriously though, you only have to hang around here for a bit before it becomes blindingly obvious that some great stuff hits the backburner. There is often no explanation why, but Id assume in most cases its not losing interest in the project, its finding the time to work on it. I know there are people with great ideas for games some of whom have been members here for almost a decade, that simply cant find the time to make them happen.

I have 2 active big projects & 1 exciting project currently on the backburner. I have many many many unfinished designs and games. It can be an obession at times... but in a good way, because you're always learning, and improving your technique. And learning all the new script language and stuff :P

I've got Compiled folders for at least 5 RON games. And damn it all, they WILL get done.
