Need Story, animations, bgs and characters for my game

I have to agree, though I hope you've gotten the point by now.

I read the topic for this thread and honestly thought it was a joke. I thought it was gonna be someone pretending to be a newbie or talking about how this sort of thing annoys them.

Anyway, like Peter and OSC said, you need to do smething for yourself before you can ask others to be involved with you on a project. I wish you a lot of luck though, and don't be discouraged. A lot of people start out by getting it in their head that they just want to "make a game" but then when it comes to actually putting it together, they find they haven't got any ideas.

To be honest, I think the story is the most important part of "making a game". The story is really what makes a game yours. If all you want to do is the scripting, you're better off offering your services to someone else who's planning their own game. Even then, you still have to have a 'resume', ie. a game that shows you have a lot of skill in scripting.

Have a go at something really simple on your own though. The graphics don't even have to matter, draw stick figures or something if you don't want to create your own graphics in the end. Just put something together so you can get a feel for how the engine works.

Yeah, the make my game function is great. It makes a compelling story and graphics at the quality of King's Quest VII, digital music and sound effects just with 5-6 clicks. You'll have to choose the theme first, though.

Zor, you fool! You have just enlisted your soul to the "make my game for free" cult.

Of course, along with this, you must expect endless criticisms, like "wtf are his OTHER LEGS! OMGOSH! A 2-LEGGED-DOG! ROFLMFAO! YOU P!SS ME OF YOU B@ST@RD"

And next you will write a 13 part orchestral score, complete with brass/piano fingering and arpeggiated flute parts.

EDIT: oh, legge, before you criticise people, take a hint: these people are doing you a favour. You said yourself you can't draw, so what right do you have to say what you want. Hey, I just had an idea. If you have an idea of the sort of dog you want drawn, then go and draw it.

legge have you even downloaded ags yet?

rite im going to help you here:

1. download ags from the homepage of this site

2. download the demogame on the same page

3. look at the demogame try changing a bit so different thing's happen

4.if you have any problems, read the manual

5. So you want to start your own game now?

6. go to the RON site (reality on the Norm) at http://ron.the-underdogs.org/

7. click the resorces link at the top and download the resorce file.

8. have a look at these files and import which characters you want into ags (read manual)

9.Load ags and create a new game "dog quest maybe"? import a background, draw up walkable area's and do the things to make your first room (see manual)

10. create a puzzle within the room, find the dog bone maybe?

11. go to the ags folder and then to your game name folder, dogquest maybe.

12. Now right click the compiled folder and click add to compiled.zip.

13. Upload that file to your website

14. Post the link ot the file in the "Complete Games Anoucements" board.

15. In the post have a screenshot and information about the story.

16. wait for a response

17. Well done you've made a game about your dog

18. dont bother posting it on the ron site, its only a one roomer afterall

OSC, thats EXACTLY what the "Make my game" button does. It's right beneath the walkable areas section in room editor. You cant miss it.
