not sure if this post belongs here, but it doesn't seem to fit in anywhere else :P, please move if needed.

that's freaking cool, if you can make it like that!

it doesn't look hard at all :P :P

That was really interesting - but I have to say this: Thank GOD for paper and pencil! Just THINKING about making 20 or so backgrounds with all that work makes me wonder what was really so bad about text adventures ;)

Hehe :)

Well, you can either write a novel or draw a picture book... :P

Nice tutorial though, I enjoyed the read. Although it's not directly related, I'd still love to make a first person adventure one day using 3D rendered backgrounds.

Tnx for the tutorial, I'm going to check this tutorial really good out! You know, I was trying to make something like this, but my 3D skills aren't so good, or maybee they are, but I never have a good idea of what to make ;)

*starts 3dmax 3.5* ;)

Damn, upgrading your version is expensive man!

That's really awesome, but do you have to make the whole ballon if its going to be behind the wall?...anyway, nice job, though I am a pixelating guy myself.

Esseb

What isn't seen still affects the scene. Shadows and all. Besides, it hardly matters for rendering speed. Also I assume it's too much effort to make half a balloon than an entire one.

youve really captured the feeling there.  way to go
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Hey there... here is also a very quick try of me on this one, but then made with Bryce5. I painted the door in mspaint, and applied it to a lattice, and blurred it abit. It's just a very very quick example made, but just to show that you can make it also with Bryce, wich is much less expensive program. ;)

Just so there's no confusion, I didn;t write that tutorial, I just found it... don't give me any credit
