One cup wonders.

Ya know, I've noticed that in my seemingly endless library of AGS games on my computer, I tend to forget the one-cup wonders that drift in the archives.

Here's my little tribute to my favorite one cup games of all time!

Laundry Day-
By Carl Heyl (I think?) probably the greatest one-cup game I've ever played. It has puzzles (very difficult, but still somewhat logical) very good music, and a writing style that is clear and concise. It seems a lot of effort was put into it, and it has an odd charm about it that actually compels me to re-play it every now and again.

Murder In the Mansion-
Although the writing and puzzle (I think there's only one?) can make the player confused to no end, I somehow inexplicably like this one. The very casual conversations that go on while characters are surrounded by blood and gore as well as a plot that LITERALLY comes out of nowhere actually make for an entertaining little game.

1 Day a mosquito-
Need I say more? Very quick, yes, but enjoyable none the less.

(Shut up I know it's been done, revival time!)

What are your favorites? (If any.)

Stupot

I have to confess I'll rarely play a game if it's only got one cup.  If I ever have, none are springing to mind at the moment.  I might have a little on-cup session at some point.

Do alot of people generally avoid one-cup games? I'm curious what the consesus is on this...

Personally I download games before they're rated.

As for the original question, while it's not a one cup game since it hasn't been rated yet (but it would surprise me if it scored more than one), I did have 2-3 solid hours of fun with All The Magical Things.

Considering that the default search is only 2-cup or better games, it wouldn't surprise me if people avoided them without realizing it.

I typically do as well, but I mean, based on what they're rated later.

Princess Marian I - XI!

In a perfect world, Princess Marian and the Fountain of Unicorns would have more than one cup. The title alone deserves an extra cup.

I found The Orange Man strangely thought provoking.

I stand by my statement. Princess Marian and the Fountain of Unicorns is a fantastic title. It's got one fantasy cliche (princesses) on top of another cliche (magical fountains) on top of yet another cliche (unicorns). It's either a smart parody of how played out the fantasy genre is or it's the most marketable title ever. It's amazing to me that J. K. Rowlling hasn't swiped it yet. Harry Potter and The Fountain of Unicorns would fit right in with the rest of that series (and would allow J. K. to buy another tropical island or two -- she needs a few more to complete the set).

Also, Bicilotti reminded me of Harry's 21st birthday. There's another very funny game that deserves more than one cup. Me go store is pretty good too.

...except that Harry's 21st Birthday isn't even a game, really.
