Title: Photoshop Crosshair Question
Post by: Dunezone on Sat 05/07/2003 18:51:32
Is there a way to change the color of the cross hair of the pencil tool in photoshop? When I work with greys I always lose it.

I'm afraid there isn't. :(

I tried to search for it as well but never found it. It's really irritating trying to guess where the crosshair is. I hope someone has a way around the problem.

There's always the possibility of setting Windows to draw a row of mouse cursors, but I always found that annoying. My mouse driver lets me press Ctrl to show a yellow circle around the current cursor position, which is more helpful, but I'm afraid that isn't a standard function yet.

If it helps you, I don't have an actual answer to that particular problem but I tend to use different programs for backgrounds. I generally do an outline in MS paint with it's nice simple interface and test the size and proportions of the outline in AGS. Then I import it to Dpaint where I get a nice pixelated look using ancient gradients and stuff. Then I'll do any little last touches in Pro Motion (Like small animations or whatever) and then finally import it to PS where I might add effects.

You might consider using a different program for the part that hinder the crosshair, it sounds awkward but it's actually a lot easier and is a good habit to get into.

I don't know why, it just is.

nope - no easy way to change the crosshair color. You can tap the spacebar though: changes your cursor into the "hand" icon for as long as you keep the spacebar depressed (no Prozac for that key!). At least you'll see where it is then ... :)

Probably the best solution Miez.
