As my game playing experience is almost completely limited to the PC, I was wondering if there were any good point-and-click adventure games made for other platforms, such as the Commodore Amiga or the Atari ST, but never ported to the PC, that might be worth checking out. Any suggestions?
Even those that *have* been ported to PC from Amiga/Atari ST are often better on their original platform, at least until the move from EGA to VGA. Personal Nightmare (http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/personal-nightmare) and Neuromancer (http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/neuromancer) being two of them. B.A.T. (http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/bat) is pretty awesome too, but I think the PC version was also decent. Kult a.k.a. Chamber of the Sci-Mutant Priestess (http://www.mobygames.com/game/chamber-of-the-sci-mutant-priestess) was extremely odd, but well worth a try.
In my opinion, what you should be checking out on the Amiga aren't the pure adventure games but the awesome genre hybrids from before Myst turned adventure gamers into a bunch of whiny reactionaries with zero hand-eye-coordination. Even if you've played them on the PC, the Amiga versions with 32-color graphics and digitized audio are a whole different experience. I can't recommend It Came from the Desert (http://www.mobygames.com/game/it-came-from-the-desert) warmly enough.

There's some great adventure games / Interactive fictions /graphical novels that really really really worth it. like Snatcher, Policenaut and Famicom Detective Club - Part II. But those are not standards point and click.

Thanks for your suggestions and sorry for missing the previous thread on the subject. Must have used the wrong search terms. :P
Omg, I didn't know about Amiga versions of Personal Nightmare and Sci-mutant priestess with 256-color graphics. Very interesting. Much thanks, GarageGothic.
And don't forget Ant Heads: It Came From the Desert II! More of the same fun from the original (minus the hospital escape and knife fight business).
Also, I notice you have Project Firestart on your site, Dan. That's a neat little game but the load times are ATROCIOUS. On an actual c64 it takes like 15-20 minutes to load and on a pc with drive speed up it still takes like 5-8 minutes to load. I don't know where I had the patience for such things back then, I remember waiting 5 plus minutes for Maniac Mansion to load, etc. Nowadays I bitch if a game screen takes more than 30 seconds.
I remember a very high quality point -and-click released for the PS1 called Blazing Dragons. If you can get ahold of a copy it is well worth it. I have never seen a PC version but then again I have never bothered to look for one.

Don't forget Snatchers on the Sega CD, I just finished Policenauts a week ago. Absolutely fantastic game.
