Firstly stu sorry for stealing any attention from your post, i think your shirts a really nice design, very retro!
On the subject, this reminded me that im looking at the possibility of making some lucas style shirts, with 'scroll backgrounds' on them. It's something i thought of awhile back but sort of forgot about. here's a quick mock up to show what i mean:
If i could generate interest i'd look into doing them in different sizes and colours using topman (UK) plain tshirts. Theres plenty of scope in them for other designs, Sam n Max, COMI, DOTT, IJ:FOA etc.
Id definatley buy a couple, they could be cool.
When i say cool..
So you'd be selling T-shirts with art you don't hold the copyright for?
That sounds...interesting.
If you actually manage to license Lucasarts material, I think your current design needs some major work.
If you're making that for yourself then I'm sure they won't mind - but think of producing it and...... this thread will be moved! :P

*sigh*
I would write a lengthy respose but i can't even be bothered with petty arguments, i have a stepmum who's much better at those than you are.
Sorry, but I don't see his point as petty... I mean, sure, if it's a low-profile thing there won't be trouble, but if the copyright holders find out you're selling them, there could be trouble.
...anyway, I re-read the thread and the first time the word "selling" is mentioned is in BB's post. So maybe we shouldn't jump to conclusions (though it *is* a fairly reasonable assumption).
By petty i mean big Brother's comments on the design, where it clearly says in my post it was a quick mock up.
As for selling, i'm not starting an emporium and opening chain stores, all im suggesting is to put together some designs for tshirts for people within this forum, nothing more. I dont want to make money from lucasArts, i just want some cool tshirts.
Right-o, sorry.
IMHO, it's really good-looking, but I'd suggest making it bigger. Sure, it's a mock-up. but mock-ups are supposed to give us an idea, and the idea I get with that one is that it's a bit too small. :)
If you were to do this, I think the best approach would be to have the scrolling background such that it wraps all the way around the shirt in a circle (around the midsection). That would cover more area and be more visually appealing I think. Doing it on shirts with some kind of jungle pattern would be cool also. It's an interesting idea.
Im with prog, that wrapped right around a black t-shirt I'd buy.
Interesting, but not attractive.
I mean, these BG's look gorgeous in a game, but on shirt, they make very little sense.
A composition of (pixellated) sprites sounds much cooler, i think, like taking some sprites from some games and arrange them all onto shirt somehow...
See this (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=16004.780) thread, page 40 and Petteri's megaman shirt. Now that's the stuff.
I see some draw to the backgrounds. For retro-gamers & LA fans, it might be pretty cool. If it weren't for the copyrighted art, it might do okay over at Threadless (http://www.threadless.com/).
I wonder if it'd still be presentable if it were posterized somewhat, making it less plageuristic and only readily recognizable to people who've stared at the backgrounds for hours.
Have to agree on the layout needing major work though, I certainly wouldn't want a t-shirt with aliasing on the shoulders, that's just odd.
just wanted to jump in and say that Jess [my girlfriend] got her design printed on threadless! Woop woop!

hooray for girlfriends!
But on topic: I always wanted adventure game related shirts to wear around and see if anyone recognizes it and comes up to me and we can nerd out together. Jess and I talked to a dude wearing a Skullmonkey's t shirt at a They Might Be Giants signing and turns out he works at the game company I now work at! GREAT MINDS PLAY GREAT GAMES!
Heh just print a large pixelly zipper icon (from some of the SCI LSL games) on the T-shirt. :=
Aww, that's such a cute shirt Eric. Congrats to Jess!
OT - you got a job at a games company? Who? Doing what? Congrats to Eric!
Back on topic: I think DC's shirt idea is great! I would wear it with pride!
More exclamation marks please! I have run out
How about a three-headed money printed on the back?

That shirt is neat, as are the ones in her store!
It would be cool to see a T-shirt with a pic of guybrush floating out to sea in the bumper car. Make it large to fill up the front of the tee. (i think it was a bumper car. It has been awhile since i played COMI)

Have you played Monkey Island 1? That would be 'what you missed". (Specifically, the cannibal village scene.)
Scumm: I think his point was that it was originally written as "money". A three-headed money.
Yes, I meant "monkey". Sorry.
