Hey guys, I had posted the idea for this in the recruit forum, but now I have a little something to show for it. First off, this is my absolute first attempt at making a game with AGS. The characters in the screenshot below are exported from Fire Pro on Gameboy Advance (will I get in trouble for that ???) just to give you an idea of how new I am with pixel art. I did draw the background which as you can see is very, very basic right now. I've tossed around the idea of an adventure game in a pro wrestling setting for some time. I figured the Montreal Screwjob would be a great place for me to start and get my feet wet with AGS. So I absolutely would appreciate any help if anyone would like to contribute to this little project.
So here is what I've done so far. In this screenshot Vince McMahon is speaking with Shawn Michaels and Triple H about Bret Hart, which eventually turns into plans for the Screwjob finish...

All feedback is appreciated. If you would like to collaborate on this, just shoot me a PM. Thanks!
All I can say it is definetly a unique idea for an adventure game. Good luck with your game studiostu. :)
could you give us a little more info on the story?
Look, if you're trying to recruit people... I'm not sure what you have is enough of something to show for it.
The floor graphic repeats every 8 pixels, and the top half is just a flat colour, so to say this was twenty minutes work, IMO, would be generous. :-\
Please don't get me wrong; I don't mean to discourage you, however perhaps you should wait a little longer to post about it here. :)
p.s. If there is a significant amout of scripting that has gone into the project, which doesn't come across in the screenshot, maybe you should consider putting together a demo with your placeholder graphics, just so people can see your work.
I know my background is crap, don't you see why I asked for help? ;D I'll keep working on it even if no one helps out. Like I said this is my first try, so it may take a while.
As for the story, here is the very short version...Survivor Series 1997 would be Bret Hart's last match with WWF as he was leaving for WCW. He was the champ, and so to avoid the risk of Bret showing up on WCW TV with the WWF title, Vince McMahon wanted Bret to lose to Shawn Michaels. Bret refused because the event was taking place in Montreal and he is very popular in Canada. He was also doing an anti-US, pro-Canada gimmick at the time and felt losing in Canada wouldn't make good business sense. So they told Bret he could win but then devised a way to force the title off of him. The referee was instructed to ring the bell when Bret was placed in a submission hold, even though Bret did not submit.
There is a lot more detail to the story, if you're interested you can google Montreal Screwjob and get the full scoop. Thanks for the feedback and supporting words. I apologize for my bad artwork, hopefully it will get better! :)
I think I want to kick some shit out of people on a strangely basic tiled floor. All I can say is DO IT. Make it basic. You will join the learning club, and that's a great place to be. Good luck!
Haha, thanks! I appreciate the encouragement!
It's like Full Throttle all over again. Very refreshing to just kick in the door instead of picking the lock with some bent silverware := Don't go too intellectual in your puzzle-design. I don't saying that wrestlers are morons, but if you're sporting 150kg muscles, you should be able to use that in-game..
