I have two separate game requests but decided to do them as one post: here's the first game.Ã,  Ã,
THE FOREST
Beta testers needed for this fantasy game. We need you to just play it, tell us what you think, and point out any bugs.Ã, Just a quick storyline so you can know a bit about it:
A boy named Shaun Kyle has a dream of a forest. He wakes up in the forest. Confronted by a dwarf, he is brought before the king of the Forest, Harthor. Shaun is sent on a quest to find a mysterious book, uncertain of what will happen next...

And the second:
DAVID SMITH: PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR (working title)

For this remake of 2010: World of Chaos, we need some background artists. In case you don't know the storyline, I'll tell it here also:
I'm David Smith, private investigator, on another mission. I've been sent to New Zealand to investigate and hunt down an Iraqi terrorist. I have a bad feeling about this...Ã,

PM me if you can do either of these things.

okay, I'm making a sort of Spin-off of the popular King's Quest Games. It has the Sierra style, and quite a few good spoofs.
it's called...DUMB QUEST!!!
Dumb Quest I- Quest for the Town
Plot: Basically this guy named Bob owns a bar in a land called Alphredtry. He runs out of money, and his kindom is bankrupt because it's a crap place to live. So he becomes a knight. He is knighted and renamed "Sir Robert Tavern" and he has to get three items to restore the kingdom to it's former glory.
Robert must face grave perils, go to many odd places, and fight the evil country Anaface (an evil race of people with anuses on their faces)
The game is in VGA and looks kind of like King's Quest V.

Right now I need:
-Sprite Artists
-background artists
-voice actors
-musicians
-cutscene artists
-dialogue portrait artists
-scripters
-and someone to host a decent nuke site for Dogma Day Games.
If you have any talent and want to join, just sed me a PM, and I'll set something up.

Hello all.
As you may know, I've been working on Space Battles! for a few months now, and have come to the point that I need sound and possibly music to make the first real beta (1.0) complete.

Here's the production thread:
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=25699.0

I need these things presently (pm for more details if you're interested):

-A person to make sound effects (mainly explosions)
-A person to produce the music (space/arcade themed, not very restrictive here)

I hope to get some feedback soon!

-Regards, Akumayo

I am recruiting a team for a medium-length comedy game I'm creating called "Tholt the Thunderer"

It's about a viking named Tholt who has to save his village from drought by confronting the great sorcerer Meridan. Halfway through the game, after solving a good many puzzles, he meets the sorcerer and piss him off. He ends up freezing Tholt in ice and leaves him for dead...

Centuries later, Tholt awakes in a research lab while a group of scientists are at break. After solving some more puzzles, Tholt escapes the lab and is out on the streets of a city in 2006, and decides to try and get back to his own time...

It will be a humorous, creative, and challenging game that I am asking help for.

I need good scriptors and animators to help me out with this game. If you can help me, then please send me a PM.

Me and some friends are working on an adventure game called The Legacy, it's a classic 2D point-and-click adventure game, and we're looking for any extra artists we can get for:

- Full-screen rooms, 320x200 resolution. Don't need to be too detailed and/or elaborate, as long as the player can tell what's what. :P
- 4-direction characters with basic animations like walking and talking.
- Anything else you can do like inventory items, objects, etc. is always a nice bonus :)

The Legacy is a game set across six distinctive eras and locations around the globe. Play as six different characters as they attempt to uncover the mystery of the Legacy, as well as solving their own personal problems. From ancient Rome to a space station in the far future.

Any staff members will get to try the game in progress (before it's released) and have a look at the design document (unless you don't want spoilers ;) ).

Contact me at supsuper@gmail.com or PM me and you'll get specific details on what needs to be done.

Hi, I just have a small favour to ask of anyone that is somewhat decent at scripting:

What I want is a countdown clock for my game. So the game starts, it starts counting down from the time (which it displays on screen) and once the time is up, game is over. Also some events that occur at certain times during the countdown (display a message at 8:43 for example).

I have found these two topics:

http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=12460.0
http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=17017.0

But cant find anything else, and just cant seem to put it together on my own. If someone could script this for me, and provide instructions on how to put it in my game I would be eternally grateful... AND id provide 100% of the profits my game makes...  :P

But we could also put it in the technical archive to help others...  :D

Dear AGSers,

for many years, having been inspired by marvellous games by LucasArts, Sierra (including its subsidiaries) and others, I was hoping to one day be given an opportunity to help create such a product. After many battles with various engines (including, but not limited to Klik & Play, Games Factory, AGI Studio, AGS) and graphic tools, I have given up though, pursuing other goals.

Since then, I actually got to make bread by doing what I love - writing. I became a video game journalist, published some comic stories (and this the career I intend to pursue further) and recently, even got a part-time job as a game designer for mobile gaming company (writing titles in Choose Your Own Adventure mould).

I realized, that if I'm to co-create an amateur adventure, I should pursue that goal now, since free time becomes a scarce quality these days for me, and I may not be able to contribute to a non-profit endeavor in the near future.

But my problem still remains. I can't draw. I can't program.

I do have a game system worked out (similar to that of Dynamix titles, yet simpler). My goals are clear, and - I think - quite realistic.

A game that can be finished in about two hours, but non-linear and replayable.

320x200 resolution, 256 colors for both practical and, let's say, nostalgic reasons.

Story driven as opposed to puzzle driven, though the latter will be a major ingredient.

I post here to recruit a team, yet the story is not in place. Let me explain myself, though.

I realize getting people to basically make the whole game is not an easy task. That's why I'm giving a choice of theme.

I'm willing to write an all original tale in a plethora of settings. A fantasy adventure. A futuristic thriller. A modern detective story. I consider myself flexible.

On the other hand, there's no denying a fan-game creates greater interest and may bring stronger motivation to team members. I also propose a license then:

- Rise of the Dragon (prequel or sequel)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark (an adaptation of the movie though, not a tribute to LucasArts games; as I said, I have the game system worked out, and it doesn't include, for example, an on-screen avatar)

On my side, I guarantee a timely delivery of the story outline once the theme of the project is agreed upon and a hasty creation of a full design document, including text for every exchange and interaction possible. I do not intend to lure team members to work off a simple idea - once you will express interest in collaborating, I will cook up the complete skeleton of the game. As you see, there's little risk involved.

The recruiting would take place in a few steps:

STEP ONE

* Finding a coder - to consult the game system and decide if he would be willing to take part in the project.

* Finding an artist - because that position may prove to be hardest to fill, and the earlier the search starts, the earlier will the coder be able to implement graphics in the tech demo.

GOAL: Creating a short tech demo - a sort of a teaser, both to generate interest and recruit more members.

STEP TWO

* Finding another writer, a native speaker, to go over my text; I DO make a living by writing, but English is not my first language (and I apologize for any and all mistakes I made in this post).

* Finding a musician.

* Finding a web-designer, to create and maintain project's web site.

GOAL: Finishing a BETA.

STEP THREE

* Finding beta-testers.

GOAL: Releasing 1.0.

Right now, you can consider STEP ONE to be in progress, and those that will put faith in this endeavor will co-decide what story will be told. Also, after finishing the first draft of the design doc (which, as I said, would be a COMPLETE skeleton of the game, all text and puzzles included), I'd be willing to give the project off to the team-members and witness it being finished from the point of view of a fan it that was the requirement.

I regret that I have so little to show for myself as of now, though most of my publications are in Polish. Still, I believe googling my name will reveal a sample or two of my writings.

Regards, and thank you for all the amazing hours I spent playing AGS games.

Radek Smektala.

Etcher Squared Games

This thread may be dying soon, but I'll give it one last chance.
I need an artist to do well, basically all the artwork in my game.  I simply can't draw.

This game involves 2 backgrounds needed, and a good number of animation sprites.  There are 6 people of which 4 will need a good number of animations.  But none of these animations require a lot of sprites...maybe 10 at the most...

pm if interested

Gentlemen,
We at Dogma Day Games seriously need some artists.
We need people that can do the following:
Make Sierra styled backgrounds
Make Sierra styled sprites
Make Sierra styled cutscenes (or at the very least draw them)
We DESPERATELY need these kinds of artists.

Right, posting again (shame on me)
I'm starting a Space Quest III remake as a second project. If you're interested and talented, PM me.

Hey there, fellow adventure-gamers. ;)

I need help with a little something, or, well, a big something actually.
As some of you may know, I'm developing a fan-installment to the FF-series with a friend. The project is going great, and progresses for almost every day.
What we need is a composer, who can also remake songs. We need a composer that can:
* compose entirely new musical pieces with a Super Nintendo-ish feel (songs that sound like they actually came straigh from a Super Nintendo-game, or at least close to)
* remake classic 8-bit songs to fit the 16-bit atmosphere of the game
* and also, though this is not needed, it would be nice if you also could add more variance to the songs that are a bit repetive.
That last one is not a must, as mentioned. If you are intrested in trying out for the 'job', contact me on MSN/hotmail at: Marcus_Belmont@hotmail.com or send me a PM here on the forums. If my ordinary mail would not work for some reason, send an e-mail to VohaulThreepwood@gmail.com.

Thanks in advance.

Hey everybody, I have been working of an indie adventure game for about a year now based on my webcomic Near the Delta, which was a humorous comic about the adventures of Osiris, Isis, Seth, Anubis and the other deities.

The Story: It is set in ancient Egypt during the Amarna period, when King Akenaten came to the throne and decided to kick all the gods out of Egypt in favor of is own brand of sun worshipping monotheism (I am a Classical History major so I will be trying to keep this game as historically accurate as humor allows). The game will follow the adventures of our hero Sed, as he travels throughout Ancient Egypt, Greece and the Mediterranean trying to save the gods.

I am a huge fan of Lucasarts style adventure games, and I realized a while ago that those were a more effective way to deliver my style of humor than a straight comic. What I'm envisioning is a flash based adveture game in an episodic format, maybe once a month, consisting of a few rooms, puzzles and characters each episode. I have a pretty detailed Design Doc prepared for the first couple episodes, and a draft for the next eight after than.

Try as I might though, I cannot wrap my mind around Flash well enough to do what I need to do. So, what I need is someone who is skilled enough with Flash (or perhaps LASSIE) to take my animations, story and voices and put them together as a playable game. I am a Mac user so AGS and Wintermute are not an option.

Of course, if you are interested in contributing to the story/dialogue/puzzles/art/voices that would be great too; no offer for help will be turned away, and any development team I put together will be wholly democratic.

Unfortunately my comic went offline when Gutterfly Comix bit the dust last year. To see some of my more recent art (such as backgrounds and sprites for the game) you can look here:

Thanks
Andrew

Howdy. Old poster back again, here. I'm a 2D artist-type who has tried to make an AGS game for ages but can't wrap his simple head around the editor. Yes, I'm a sad, sad man.

I'd like to collaborate on a story and game with someone as I am an okay idea man and a pretty okay spriter but can't script to save my life. I'm not looking to have you make my project, but rather to make a unique project together.

You can see an example of the art style I am shooting for here or at my sketchblog in various posts.

I don't want to do a massive, sprawling game, but a few rooms and a few puzzles to get our feet wet sounds good to me. PM me, email me, post here, whatever works for you within the forum's guidelines.

Thanks!

Hi there!

I'm currently seeking some people for the current MAGS-Competition (July/2006). I've started writing a game design document, that is neeeeaaarlly done. So I can provide you with that. I will, too, provide the team with communication and organization.

I most of all need

  * Background artists (about two, agile, artists should be enough)
  * Sprite artists (there are not so many sprites or animations, so one artist should be enough)

If someone wants to bath in the glory a win at MAGS gives you, feel free to contact me (PM or email, see profile) ;-)

Please contact me soon, because the game needs to be ready soon.

Thanks to everyone.

Kind regards,
Dennis
