Got this idea for a game while watching Fillmore. Basically, you play this American Hall monitor in a sureal comical concept. The plots would be along the lines of 1980's and current cop shows combined, but where the cops are kids(Hall monitors), the criminals are those who disobey school rules, the Mayor is the principal etc.
I'd like to do it like RON, where one person makes one chapter, another makes another, making it seem that the writer/director is constantly changing. Like a TV show. Would anyone be interested in playing this and/or making a chapter.

EDIT: The above explanation is out of date, read further down for the latest info.

This sounds like a very interesting project, as a matter of fact. I probably wouldn't contribute a chapter (but who knows?) since detective stories don't start my creativity flowing, but I would like to play such a game, yes. Building a world like RON is a good, and you may even want to make it very detailed, but leaving room to add new locations and grow. This could become a very interesting TV show (I love detective TV shows).

P.s. what do you mean by "kids(Hall monitors)"?

As the forum's authority on awesome, I am dissapointed to see how unawesomely everyone reacts to new ideas nowadays. If you don't like the idea, don't post or post constructive criticism.

To stay on topic, I like this idea. I don't know if I'd make a game for it, but I'd probably play them.

I didnt do anything wrong the only thing i did was ask him his age, The second post was a reply to Ginny and there was nothing wrong with it due to the fact it was 100%acurate.
I dont like the idea because
A)He ripped the idea from a tv show
B)Theres really only a few settings possible
C)nothing can replace RON

I would help with the story line of it if you make it, but I still think theres better ideas out there. As long as you have fun making and playing it then it is a good game.

LostTraveler: But you didn't have to be a little snot about it

on topic, it sounds like an interesting idea.. And if there were graphics made like Insta-Game, I would most definitely play and make some chapters.. Rock on!

The idea sounds not bad and I would also consider making a chapter, but you should not have too great hopes you can find someone to do the artworks for it easily. Of course I hope you are considering the graphics yourself and just wondering whether people would be happy about your efforts? We would, sure  :D

Squinky

The idea itself sounds bland to me, but I guess it's all how you go about it...Good luck...

Okay, look at it like this. It is a ripoff of Fillmore, the Disney show, but at least I'm trying to pump in new ideas.
It would play out in that we would have a school, and maybe a town to explore, thus there could be hundreds of rooms.
In the tradition of all good COMEDIC detective stories, the main character would have a partner to spark off, the great thing is, you wouldn't have to make a game using them. You don't even have to make the player play as the hall monitors, but you'd have to be careful to still involve them in some way.

Although most of the games SHOULD be whodunnits, character building  chapters would be good too.

I actually think Fillmore is one of the BETTER kids shows out there. It's like a CSI for kids (except without dead bodies and lbood)

I say go for the game, and as long as it's not TOO obviously ripped, then everyone will be saying :

"oooh! look at this highly original game that is not based on Fillmore whatsoever. Whoever made this is very clever and we must worship them forever."
Peter: "Being faggy isn't bad!"
AGA: "Shush, FAG!"

Thanx Peter Thomas, it won't look particularly ripped and Fillmore is one of the better kids shows isn't it?

Okay, what about this for a name: The SJS(School Justice System)

Any other suggestions for names would be greatly apreciated

Sounds interesting. I think Squinky has a point that hall monitors is a kind of bland theme to run with (RON being a town etc is kinda cool) but I guess it could work. Afterall, the Cramp Twins worked somehow.

I used to do hall monitoring lol, and the bad guys were the bullies!

Ginny

Oh, so that's what you meant by hall monitors.. We've never had something like that in our schools (or am I being forgetfull?), so I initially thought you meant Computer Monitor Screens which are located in the hall, which makes no sense to be called kids :P.
I might like to help with storyline at some point.

Pruned the thread. No strong language on this board (talk and chat) please, cos it'll just be deleted/edited.

I think this idea could work, and if it's done correctly it's a game I'd like to play...

I'll just add an idea here, and you see wheter you like it or not...

If you want to create a game that would work like RON, instead of "narrowing the plot" with only the detective kids thing, I'd suggest you to make it based on the School. I mean, like in one chapter it would be about this detective kids, and then someone else decides to make a game about it too and makes it about another thing happening in the same school, etc.

I'm just saying this because it'd allow for more creativity (being based on a School and not on a few characters), but do whatever you think would work.

Don't blame me - I didn't know it!   (I have the feeling this will come handy...)

Good idea, that would mean we could make it more like Recess('nother Disney cartoon). And I'd make the first chapter my whodunnit! Perfect!

You could always attach your game to the RON universe (roniverse?), instead of trying to spark off a whole new series on your own.  There haven't been many games about the RON school, so you have plenty of freedom do to your own thing.
