Hello,

My name is Jesse and I'm a PR Assistant with the Unofficial King's Quest IX Team. King's Quest IX: "Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining" http://www.kq9.org  is an unofficial fan-designed adventure game, based on Sierra On-Line's King's Quest series. It centres on the adventures of the royal family of the Kingdom of Daventry, and combines memorable characters, often mind-bending puzzles, great storylines, and fun gameplay. Most of the puzzles and many of the characters are inspired by myth and folklore, making the games easy to enjoy for anyone who plays them.

On Sunday, May 15th, 2005 the King's Quest IX team will celebrate the KQ9.org's 3rd Anniversary by hosting a chat in the KQIX Chamber http://www.kq9.org/chat,  our Java-based IRC chatroom. From 4PM â€" 6PM EST (GMT -05:00) fans will get a chance to talk in realtime with members of the KQIX Development Team, including the directors, artists, musicians, and programmers!

The first hour of the chat will be reserved for questions from invited members of the press including: The Inventory, Game Informer, PC Gamer, Just Adventure, and more. Also during this chat, we will finally be announcing our game's release date and other exciting surprises.

To learn more about King's Quest IX: Every Cloak Has a Silver Lining, visit our site at: http://www.kq9.org/  We hope to see you all there!

You mean it's not released yet! Three years later it's still not done!

:P Just kidding, of course.

Good information to know, thanks. :)

Yeah, I'm excited to see how this turns out.  I actually worked as a writer for the story for a while, but they just needed too much of my time.  I wish it the best though.  I really didn't want to have to quit it, because I have been such a huge fan of the KQ series.  It was an honor to work on this as little as I did. :-)

[05:01] <Iqu-> I've touched Ron Gilbert's ass. Ergo, KQ9 sucks. Your thoughts, please?

Hello everyone,

I am very pleased to announce that Ken and (possibly) Roberta Williams will be attending the KQ9.org Birthday Chat!

For those unaware, Ken & Roberta Williams are the original creators of the King's Quest series and countless others.

So there's no excuse not to come!

Except maybe 'but I don't like Kings Quest' or seemingly 'I touched Ron Gilbert's ass'.

Warlock

Just letting you know in advance that we're half an hour away from starting the chat, so if you havn't yet decided to come, we strongly urge you to.

For your convinience: http://www.kq9.org/chat

Hope to see you there!

Neat... I presume this has been and gone now then? How did it go?

Please tell us how it went Warlock, in a more personally written message rather than the ones you're posting on all the forums :)

Their silly java client puts bold and colours on everything, I left before the end (not being terribly interested in KQ myself), but the new screenshots, which you can see at the site, are a huge improvement over the old ones.  I'll look forward to the release date, which was revealed to be December, I think.

TerranRich

Holy crap, the screenshots do look very awesome. I cannot wait to play this game. I haven't been following up much on KQ9's progress, but I see that it revisits a lot of the locations from KQ6, which is quite cool. Can't wait! ;D

@m0ds

It's kind of standard, having to promote an event, it would be fruitless typing it up in different ways for each forum we have to post it at. But I can tell you on a more personal note that the event went far better than we had expected, a ton of people showed up and made the event even larger than the previous birthday chats. That Ken & Roberta Williams showed by only made the event that much better. Tons of questions were asked and answered during the chat that seems to have halted some of the many questions constantly thrown at us. (And spawned countless new ones)

On a more impersonal note ( ;)) I can report that we released a log today of the chat for those who might have missed it. Link can be found: Here

And for those who missed the screenshots, music and other: Here

I hope this was personal enough?Ã,  :P
