*raises his hopes*
well was going to post the same topic, but wasn't the first ;)
here is the articles from Adventure Games --> http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,458
the company Bad Brain Entertainment (http://www.bad-brain.com/), which specializasion is adventures, dropped a hint that it has negosiations about buying the rights for the game where the main roles are played by the animals. The oficial of a company didn't go into details due to "confedentiality agreement" or something similar, but still this raises hopes. heheheh
but we fan aren't so easy to be stopped. Someone looked into the html code of their website and found there the lines: "sam, max, 2". So i may say that its a good sign ;) Let's wait and see what's going to happen.

"Steve Purcell", which now owns the Sam & Max license, gives a few comments (some pertaining to Sam & Max)

Quote from: adventuregamers.com"Also there are negotiations with LucasArts but I can't get into detail here. Maybe this will be the surprise release of 2005. The game you all wanted but didn't get (except for a fine trailer)."
Readers who haven't had their heads in the ground for the past year can probably guess that Kierdorf is referring to the anticipated sequel, Sam & Max Freelance Police
What about Full Throttle!? :(
That's the unfortunate part. Steve has the rights to his characters and ideas, but LucasArts doesn't have to (and isn't currently planning to) relinquish the work done thus far on the sequel. It's a plus since they might re-evaluate the look the engine gave the characters but a minus since it'll be starting from square one.
This update has everything to do with Steve Purcell and his intentions, not the intentions of LA. Full Throttle won't be resurrected since it's entirely a Lucasarts property.
Someone should show these guys AGS and the community. They come in with the art and story and lotsa things, us folks come in with AGS and programming of it, everyone gets happy because the games get finished. ;D
What happened with that petition hundreds of people signed? The one that was sent to Mrs Lucasarts PR? Did it not convince LucasArts to re-consider? It'd be so nice if they gave it all back to Steve.
Steve definitly is aware of the 33 thousand people that signed up saying that they would slam down 50 bucks or so for the game. They just weren't thinking straight. They still believed they had to spend millions on marketing, which they didn't. They could have just mentioned it online, and there are tons of fanboys and fangirls that would go about promoting it for free.
