Congrats, Mark! I know first-hand how daunting such a thing can be. You certainly have much more cred and experience than I did when I first started, so I can only foresee good things.

Only one question. Does this mean you'll have to give up FoY? Or spin it off to a company that is not Screen 7? A commercial company that's creating an Indiana Jones game - even a freeware one -  could cause some problems, since you are using the Indy trademark to bring traffic to your website and boost your own sales (or that's how'd they see it anyway).  This is the reason why AGDI created Himilaya, I believe. Or did you already take that into consideration?

Sounds exciting, Mods!
I hope your business will prosper and grow :)

Thanks Andail, and I hope you have fun with your librarian duties! (thanks Facebook translate!)  :=

Miez - I'm sure you'll get an email or two along the way, thank you! ;)

Daz - Funnily enough I stumbled across FL a couple of nights ago, brings back memories! Of an epic menu screen ;D Anyway your new project looks very nice, and reminds me of LBA2 hacienda!

Chris, thank you sir! Nice to hear from you. Hope you're well and Da New Guys came together for you!

Dave - thanks a lot! Your work with WEG is inspiring, and you've tackled the business side admirably. Gotta respect your angle on the genre to! As for FoY you make an interesting point, I'll look into it further. From our research there is a bit of a strange "line" with the IJ franchise - wouldn't want to get in trouble that's for sure and definitely want to respect the law. Recent article in the UK about a pub called the Hobbit being targetted by Hollywood in an attempt to remove all LOTR style branding, and they will do that. I have experience of annoying movie studios yes, but you're right about looking into FoY and its links to a commercial business.

I don't think I can reverse the last 12 years (lots of websites to get in touch with :/) just for a names sake, the intention has & will always be the same - "free game" and if they do bite I'm happy for it to go "underground" or just release it under a different name to s7. Reputation is a very interesting angle and I seem to have things in both the green zone and the red zone, so thanks for giving me something to think about!

I hope this works for you Mark!
But... I can't help to be curious about the future of FOY.  :-\

If anyone has a piece of music, podcast, funny audio clip or anything original and audio-y, please let me know! My new site will have a playlist and I'm looking to promote some stuff. Individuals, other companies - whatever. Even if you just make a funny advert for your game :) As long as you are the creator and owner of the content, I'd like to stream it!

News update: It's been 3 months since the last post, so what's happened? In April we were lucky to take on The Cat Lady by Harvester Games, the game was completed in May and is now being tested and voiced through June and July. The new Screen 7 website has been in the works, the old design from 2006 will finally disappear on July 7th. New sub-sites will appear around that time for A Night At Camp Ravenwood, Kinky Island and The Visitor (freeware). Furthermore Summerbatch will be released soon after July 7th. The developers have been working hard to bring you some quality gaming. I have been getting a half-decent website working, which will be available to view from around the 7th at summerbatch.co.uk.

Summerbatch will be available to buy til Autumn, around when The Cat Lady will go on release! We intend to turn up at Eurogamer Expo in London (in September) and business-card everyone to death. We're also keeping an eye on Nottingham's "GameCity" festival in October where you might just see a mini-AdventureX, if they ever get back to me!! GameCity are particularly keen to involve indie developers this year. AdventureX will conclude the year with a showcase of works and special computer gamey guests.

Don't know if AJA told you but you can use the soundtrack sampler from Barely Floating if you want!

Thanks Mad, I'm after individual tracks, rather than a showreel type track. If you want to email me one specific tune then please do!

Frito - thanks!

The webby will be up tomorrow. Fri 13th, unlucky for some :)

No problem, I can add it at a later date!

The website is updated, please see if it works or has problems in your browser! Content still to be added mind you, and you can't actually download or buy anything yet :P

I think it looks nice. I'm using a small laptop and everything fits nicely once you start browsing the site. It's different from other sites (basic blocky header+side navigation style you see everywhere) and thats always nice.

Looks awesome! So the 28th is the official date for the summerbatch? Great.
