Title: Show Ron Gilbert your game!
Post by: on Fri 06/05/2005 18:19:08
There's no better chance for Ron Gilbert to see your game than on a special compilation CD I will be taking on Sunday which also includes a version of the FoY demo for him to see.

If you want your game included on the CD, please post a working link so I can download it and apply it to the CD. Games under 10mb are more likely to be considered, the smaller the better - that way he gets farrrrr more.

Now I'm sure AGA, being the bright spark that he is - is already doing something similar, but his doesn't come with the FoY demo now, does it... :P

I greatly appreciate this, as I'm sure will he, and you :D

We're all winners!

(PS - I could cycle the games pages [and I will depending on space left] to find games, but I'd rather those who actually want to be recognised came forward first :))

And ask him some important question about my games, like if he feels they need more dick jokes.

Hahaha, will do! Though judging by the amount of dick in his current games I wouldn't expect such a positive response, Daniel... Though saying that, we never did see any of his private games...

Rich, your game can be a 2 room, MS Paint piece of crap published by Mappomedia for all I care, it's whether YOU care to want him to see your work that counts :)

If you deem it worthy, he will. Now gimme a link!! :D

unfortunatly i cant make an englisch translation in the next 3 days, so
he must play the german version of my episode for Maniac Mansion Mania.
But he should be familiar with it, i guess :-).

EDIT: if I work quickly, maybe I can still get the demo done in time.

Er... ok, so I know it's a remake... but would Larry 2 point and click be acceptable? Like you said - show our work. It's not an original, sure, but it IS quite a piece of work. The same could be said about, say, Maniac Mansion Deluxe or KQ1 VGA (er, apart from the fact that those have great graphics).

Oh well. I wish I had something better to show *da man*... ah well. If you think it's allright...

Each file has one half of the setup program.

No fan-games or remakes allowed! Nah, thats a silly joke... Of course you can. I really doubt Ron will care, last I heard he wasn't a particular fan of LEC, but I could be wrong...

Feck it:

http://bts.xylot.com/setup-btsdemo-0.1.exe

If you want to install it so that the full game is on the CD, that would be the best way to go it, I think. It's about 50 MB unzipped I believe. I believe it's worthy, but it does have a few bugs here and there...and it has no music...and no sound...except for the title sequence though! :)

Man, I should play it, just to be motivated and inspired again...

Wouldn't it be best to put all the AGS award winners on, or something like that?  Not to put down people's games... but it'd be nice to make the best impression possible.

Ooh! Ooh! Sounds like fun ^_^ Please put Cirque de Zale on too.

Er, you'll have to get it from the games page though (medium length) because it's the only place we've given permission to download from.

hobbes, make a slideshow of bucaneer 2, to wet his appetite.
--------
and i agree that the award winners/nominees, should be going on.
and for no reason should pester quest be put on, not even if there is spare space.

I think that people who are going should show their games. Because then it feels like those people who live in LA who work as janitors in some unknown location and as soon as they run into a famous guy they give out their "excellent" script.

Where is Igor? I think he must see the trailer of his game. Is it made in AGS though? Looks too good for that.

you could put the trailer on: http://maniac.adventuredevelopers.com/trailer.htm

I know Ignac wasn't made in ags, Ignac 2 will be. You could put his detective test game that he released on it. That was nice.

If you had a chance to show him "The Great Stroke Off!" game and see what he thought of it, that'd be cool.  ;D
