Title: Skip intro button missing...
Post by: Khris on Fri 06/08/2004 09:00:37
Hey,

this is my first post here, so don't kill me if I didn't obey one of the forum's rules...

A few days ago I wanted to play Perils of Poom (after I read a positive review).
I think it's a nice and funny game, however one thing is terrible: the intro can't be skipped. Most of the other games offer the opportunity to restore in the very beginning and only after starting a new game, the intro begins to roll.
I played a few other games, too, featuring this mistake(?).

What do you think? Am I right or what?Ã,  ???

I haven't played PoP, but I know in some games you can press ESC to skip some cutscenes. Or, if that doesn't work, you can just keep clicking through the dialogue. But I agree, cutscene skipping should be made obvious for ease of use.

Keep an eye out for the deluxe edition of PoP! I'm sure a skip intro button will be included. For now, I believe you have to sit through it all at present, I haven't found a way to skip it.

:)

Yeah.. er.. I'm not gonna lie to you - There is no skip button for it. To be honest, I didn't really think about it until now. During testing, I just held down ENTER to skip through all the dialogue. I'll fix it. As m0ds said.. deluxe piece.

What's changing?

Well.. Besides the Skip Intro capabilities, I'm pretty sure there's going to be a few more tracks from m0ds. Probably some other little updates too... -M-?

I personally can't wait for Poom Deluxe. Or the eventual Poom 2. The original was one of my favorite AGS games of last year.

cool. I don't want to say too much incase I get lazy and make false promises but yeah.. full soundtrack. And some extra pieces. The music's great stuff, I'm pretty sure m0ds has posted some of it on the forums before.. (in the critic section if I recall).
