NB Some game authors would actually rather that other people promote their games than do it themselves, so if there's a game that hasn't been mentioned yet that you thick deserves consideration, you can mention it here too... but if its already here, please don't post it again!

I honestly don't know if I can do that. It's either I haven't completed or played the games or it's already mentioned.... commercial games count too right?

Blackwell Unbound! Blackwell Unbound for your consideration!

best music- A collection of jazzy meet tech music that you can listen all day to. Made by the briliant Thomas Regin.

best Gameplay- You are able to switch characters and there are things joey can do that Lauren can't and vice versa.

best Story- nicely written and thought through, there's never a boring moment.

best Dialouge- always... The various conversations Joey and Lauren have are realistic and often funny.

best Puzzles- Smart puzzles, includes those 'Oh my God it was in front of my face all this time and I took hours hitting joey with a sax!' puzzles which qualifyies it for medium games.

best player character- Lauren, for contributing to the green house effect more than any game character ever has.
Joey, for his never ending duty as the bestower of sarcasm.

best scripting- the conversations between Joey and Isaac was said to be very difficult codewise. Go Dave!

Best non-player character- The phone book, for being so useful...inanimate objects don't count? kay...then I say Harriet Jones, for being...well...Harriet; Cecil Sharpe, for being dreamy; The countess for being...grandma a misguided medium; Dwayne for being such a hard worker; Isaac, you know why; Joseph Mitchell for being real (which means he reallly did write...appreciated). Mavis?....

Best background art- simple, but the attention to detail is simply awsome, and I rarely use the word awesome, I don't know why I chose awesome, it just came out as I typed.

Best animation - again conversations between joey and isaac were said to be difficult, Here's to Ivy who helped make it happen; I also liked Lauren's idle animation.

Best Character art- the possibility that Michael Jackson was modelled after Lauren is just...

I think that's all... did I miss anything?

* Best Background Art   - Antartica, alien ships, and jungle in excellent 320x240 pixel graphics

Hi guys,

I'm nominating my game Purgatorio for a few AGS awards

The game can be Downloaded here (89MB):

Purgatorio

I'm nominating it for:

- Best Character Art
Photographed and stylized characters that seem at home in the game world. Also a photographed walk-cycle is not easy to do.

- Best Music
This short game offers 30 minutes of original music that ranges from gentle, atmospheric outdoor melodies, to sleazy bar room music, to eerie, disquieting music designed to put you on edge. The music in Purgatorio plays a big part in setting the mood, and each piece was recorded solely for this game.

- Best Documentation
Interesting and informative Instructional PDF manual included in download

- Best Short Game
Purgatorio was created by a single person and I'm very proud of the results. It's short but a great deal of effort went into it and I'd like to nominate it as best short game.

- Best Background art
The background art is 800x600 resolution with 32 bit colours. It is a mixture of photographed and hand drawn images, brought together to give a stylized and atmospheric environment to explore. Many subtle animations helped create that atmosphere. Although it is a short game it has 25 unique indoor and outdoor locations.

- Best Puzzles
I like to think the puzzles were original without being too far removed from what adventure gamers are used to. The general consensus regarding the keypad puzzle is that people loved it or hated it. Ah well.

Hope you guys enjoy playing it.

As a representative for the females that are part of this forum. I hereby nominate the CL1TOR1S Award as a replacement for the P3N1S Award.

Also I would like to cast a vote for the common cold as most original plot in a short game. or for best short game

And a double vote for Nelly Cootalot as most user friendly game icons and best visuals. or for everything Ali mentioned

;D

Oh, what the hell. I never win anything, but here goes.

For your consideration.... (drum roll please)

Barn Runner Xmas 2: Wreck The Halls

- Best Dialog
My puzzles may often come up lacking, but I think the writing is the most solid part of the Barn Runner universe.

- Best Non Player Character: The Chief
I love writing dialog for her as much as my hero loves pining away for her.

- Best Background Art
I think I've come a long way with my ColorformsTM inspired design for the world of Barn Runner. The silly Ark/Church and its interior shots are something I probably have no right to be so proud of, but there it is.

And just to get my hopes up way too high...

- Best Short Game
Not a chance in hell of winning this one, but damn, this game has some Christmas spirit! And everybody loves Christmas!

Well, there you have it. Feel free to break my heart... *sniffle*  ;)
