Hi! Just finished playing Trilby's Notes. Great game but I didn't understood the story very well. Part of it was that at the end when you see images of the characters the text scroll too fast. Also, it's been a long time since I played 5DAS and I don't remember the story very well.

Could somebody please make a summary of the 5DAS story and the Trilby Notes one? It would really appreciate.

Also, should I play 7DAS or 6DAS first?

You should play games in following suggested order:

= 5 Days a Stranger
= 7 Days a Sceptic
= Trilby Notes
= 6 Days a Sacrifice.

But actually 7 Days is a sort of side-quel (or how these things called?), so you may play it after Notes, but better before 6 Days.

*WARNING ------ SPOLER ALERT*

As for story, in short, it is:

- Some arrogant Celtic Druid, named Cabbadah, tried to conjure a Pain Elemental, called Chzo, to help him defeat invaders. Chzo however appeared too powerful for druid to control, and instead of helping Cabbadah, he made him his slave.
- Chzo put Cabbadah's soul into the large tree. And from that moment every one, who harrased the tree or the wood from that tree in any way would summon Cabbadah, or rather his new form - the Tall Man. Tall Man is evil and he kills people :P
- Last owner of the tree's wood was DeFoe aristocrat. He beaten one of his sons with the idol made from same wood, and thus that son's avengeful spirit became connected to it. In 5 Days touching the figuring will be enough for this ghost to possess people and commit murders.
- In past, some guy called Frehorn created a cult, which worshipped Chzo. There was a prohecy that Chzo will finally enter the Earth. To do so, he needs someone called The Bridge. This should be a man connected both to the realm of technology and realm of magic. Since poor DeFoe's son was killed with idol, which was made of magic wood, he somehow became the one of such properties (he was born in the world of technology, but killed by magic wood, that's it).

Hopefully this helps.

Yep it helps.  ;)

CAUTION SPOILER THREAD

But I have some other questions too.

If John was beaten up with the idol, isn't it supposed that it's the father of John who gets murdered by tall man? Also, how was John's father and brother killed after John was killed by tall man?

In 5DAS, who is possessing the persons? John or tall man? If it's John, how and why? And also, Trilby killed who when he was possessed? And how can they kill  John's ghost with a shotgun? :p

The tall man can only return to our world on the aniversary of his death.

John wasnt killed by the tall man and John kills his family.

Its the spirit of John Defoe.. The idea of the Tall man and stuff wasnt introduced until trilby's notes.

Trilby killed Philip ... isn't that... kinda obvious?

1. That wasn't shotgun XD. it was some old aged rifle.
2. I think that was rather metaphorical, "magical" murder, since the woman, who held the gun, was posessed by the spirit of John's father at that moment. I guess that involved some specific laws of the world of spirits, or something...  ::)
By the way, as you may know from playing 7Days or 6Days, John wasn't actually killed to the end....
oops, spoiler spoiler :)

It's been a long time since I played the game, so I didn't remember anymore.

However, John does get stabbed by Tall Man. Anyways, whoever killed him, John is angry and kills everybody (as a ghost)?

So after 5DAS, the idol is haunted by both Tall Man and John? If you touch it, you are possessed by John, if you "torture" it, you get killed by Tall Man?

discordance

The *wood* of the idol has always been possessed by the Tall Man in all its incarnations (as a harpsichord, as an inn, etc.). When John Defoe was killed with the idol his soul was transferred into it as well.

If you read the text in the black magic book carefully, it says that the ritual of putting the ghost back in its original body makes it 'partially mortal' or some such thing (i.e. the whole point of the ritual is so they can kill the ghost with a shotgun, although I kind of like Crimson's explanation better).

As I understand it John's soul is in the wood, so it can come out posses people, but the Tall Man's soul is the wood so it has to stay put until July 28 rolls around, and the Tall Man's body can come avenge it.
