Title: Suggestion: New forum
Post by: Hobbes on Sat 06/09/2003 11:08:33
Hi all,

I've been thinking a bit about this, and how does it sound?

We get a new forum here, called "Game Production". It's subtitle would be: Discuss your ideas and issues you encounter whilst developing your game.

It would be the ideal place for us to swap our different approaches to development, ask each other questions (How do you go about making your sound files? How does this GUI look? etc.).

How does that sound?

Yeah, I thought the same thing. That sounds exactly like the stuff Talk and chat is for. Otherwise its just another gen-gen.

It seems to me that the forum covers all of the subjects you mentioned already.  Your subtitle says, "Discuss your ideas and issues you encounter whilst developing your game."  But, from my point of view, "Ideas" = Critic's Corner or Talk & Chat, and "Issues" = Technical Forum.

I'm not saying it's a horrible idea, it could just makes things a mite confusing, have threads pertaining to the same subject flying all over in different boards, not to mention the pain it might be for the admins and mods.  I think things are organized just fine the way they are.

Hmm yeah, I agree - I don't really see how it would be different to this forum.
