Title: Template Request
Post by: on Sat 15/07/2006 01:49:26
I was wondering if someone could get me a Boston Low template? I'd like to use it in a game I'm working on. I'm going to recolor and modify it to become the player character. If this is considered plagiarism then I won't release the game with that sprite, I'll change it back to the old suckish edition.Ã,  :=

I suggest you study screen rips but repixel from the top for your own game. Learn the techniques, don't just repaint.

That's what I was going to do, but my computer hates me and won't let me play lucasarts games. Anyway, I'm a noob to AGS and I'd just like to do this for practice.

There's a Scumm engine out there for your need. ScummVM be the name I think. Sadly I do not have the link, but I am sure someone will pop by with one shortly.

Can you open ZIP files?Ã,  Because that's all you need to run ScummVM (http://www.scummvm.org/).

The latest Windows version can be downloaded in a ZIP format from here (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/scummvm/scummvm-0.9.0-win32.zip?download).

That should allow you to play the games.

[EDIT:]

I don't think we should be offering help to people to get around software like this. I'm open to options... Eric

I edited the post with information regarding bypassing KidsWatch.

It's understandable as to why MrColossal edited it, so I didn't complain.

There's not much wrong with ScummVM other than it not supporting the MI games 100% :=.

1) I don't think we're supposed to be giving him any hints.
B) It's really not necessary to quote the post above you.
III) I'm not a mod, so you don't really have to listen to me.

@Albeans:

I don't have the game but if I did I wouldn't be able to provide you with a template right now. Perhaps searching Google for screenshots/sprites/backgrounds from the game would help.

I've never heard of that character, and I don't get an entry in Google or Mobygames... Can someone tell me which game are we talking about? I'd like to look for some screenshots, to see if it's worth to study the style.

Thanks for everything people, but I can't find it, m0ds, thanks, but these are all older editions, I guess I'll just work with what I have, case closed. Of course, if anyone can get me one I'd still be grateful.  8)
