The fourth (http://www.adventuredevelopers.com/featuredetail.php?action=view&featureid=35&showpage=1), and last, installment of Beiddie Rafól's The Cold Hotspot: A critique of the state of adventure games, has just been published at Adventure Developers.com.
The Cold Hotspot is a series of articles which explore some of the key points and contradictions of the stagnation and lack of direction within the adventure game genre. The author attempts to answer questions like "What happened that caused the adventure game to slip into relative obscurity and be largely ignored by the media and the rest of the world?"
In case you haven't read the preceding articles yet; they're all available here (http://www.adventuredevelopers.com/regularfeatures.php?action=view&id=4).

Thanks, it was a great read. Many interesting points mentioned there. I think it could be the starting point for a GTD. Unless those points were already made in previous GTD's. In which case, happily ignore me.
