Title: The Doublefine Beetlejuice game
Post by: Eggie on Thu 10/08/2006 18:49:24
Tim Schafer did a pretty good job of keeping it all hush-hush. Hre was very careful, very clever to make sure everything was under-wraps.
Unfortunately he was NOT CLEVER ENOUGH! For cautious as he was, dear Mr. Scafer made one fatal mistake!!

Um...in his last blog entry he said he was making a Beetlejuice game...

So how's everyone reacting to this?
I'm hoping it'll combine the sensibilities of the movie with the visual style of the TV show...and...I hope it doesn't star Michael Keaton...

His blog entries usually contain a lot of nonsense, so...
This may or may not be bogus!

It seems like a very specific thing to make a joke about.
I mean if you set out to come up with the most trandom thing for a respected company to make a game about you'd probably say something like 'that top secret Pumaman game'.

It's definately a joke. This is the exact line really out of the blue: "Well, better get back to work on that top secret Beetle Juice game!"

It's obviously a reference to the recent bullshit about a Tim Burton Grim Fandango movie.

Which bullshit would that be?
If I claim ignorance to hearing that story can I be let off taking the blog post seriously?

There was a rumor, which was found to be started by one kid. He started websites to claim that "Tim Burton was considering a movie based on Grim Fandango" and then went around the web and asked "if these sites he 'found' were true".

He was made the fool when people tracked down information on the sites and it led to the same guy.

So, anyways, Tim has found out about the rumor, and turned it right around saying he was working on a game adaptation of a Tim Burton movie.

Well, boy do I feel silly.
But not as silly as Tim Burton...
'cos he made Planet of the Apes.

Er..  You what?

More importantly, does Yuffie know anything yet?  She probably knows what he had for breakfast, so I doubt he could get away with something this big without her knowing all about it.
