The ending of GK3 *SPOILERS*

Raggit

I just finished GK3 for the first time after having finally obtained a copy.

It's a fascinating game, and incredible story, but I have a question for those of you who've completed it more than once:  Is there more than one ending?

In the ending I saw, Grace leaves while Gabriel is returning to the hotel from the temple after having defeated the villian and returned Prince James' son safely.  When he gets back to the room, he finds her gone with only a note left on the laptop.  He crumples the paper and drops it back onto the computer, and the screen fades out.

This really blew me over, and I was just wondering if I had done something wrong and if there were other endings...  if there are, tell me, but DON'T tell me WHAT they are or what happens.

Nope, that's the one ending. Grace just made her up mind. It's life, donchaknow.

Here is GK3's secret ending:

Spoiler
You realize the game is shite, and burn it.

That's the ending I experienced.

I totally expected this...

Fish, disliking a game is one thing. Hating it is quite another. Both are normal reactions.

Being passionately hateful about it every single time the game is mentioned, in whichever context, borders on pathological.

I never claimed to be sane.

Indeed, whenever I express my digust at the oozing hemorrhoid of inteptitude that is GK3, you always seem to be on hand to point it out.

Your pathological need to point out my pathological behaviour sickens me, sir!

...

Ps. GK3 sucks.

Well, at least I'm consistently predictable.

Indeed I am (on hand to point it out), because I happen to love GK3. :D

GK3?

I'd assume it's Gabriel Knight, but would it hurt to write it out at least once.

That's why Those Who Love GK3 and Those Who Hate GK3 can never been allowed to meet.

It's one of signs of the apocalypse. Along with a new Monkey Island game from LucasArts, and a good Eastern-European adventure game!

Yes. Now that you've typed it out, I have to go wash my eyes.

Hmmm, I don't recall asking anyone's opinion on whether or not they liked the game.  Did I?

No, but where's the fun in not asking?

That's like playing GK3, and not laughing at Mosley's tiny arms...

Okay, Limpingfish,

You've made your point.  We all know you didn't like the game.  I'm not asking you to like the game, just show those of us who DO like it some respect and go hang out in another thread if you don't have anything useful to say.

Or else the mods can just go ahead and lock this thread now because no intelligent conversation will be exchanged when you're jumping in at every turn to deliver some childish remarks.

Oh, come on Raggit. I'm only pulling your leg. Sorry if you took offence, but I don't recall disrespecting anyone's opinion.

Besides, I believe this thread more or less ended when your original question was answered in Rui's first post.

But, fair enough, this is your thread.

(Sigh).Looks like I'll have to add "Fans of GK3" to my off-limits conversation list. Nevermind, you can keep "Fans of The Longest Journey" company. :)

For my part, Fish, I love it when this happens. And up to reply 11, this thread had me laughing fit to burst. :)

Yeah, it's fun to kick the old GK3 football around a bit every now and again. ;D

I'll respect Raggit's wish, though, and bow out at this point. :)

It's okay Limping Fish, I was taking you too seriously.  It's just been one of those days of mine where every little thing sets me off.  (Male PMS or something.)

And whoever is right or acts near insanity doesn't really matter.
GK3 still sucks.

Ghost

On a more thread-related note, I think I read somewhere that you could get an "extended ending" if you manage to find all of the game's easter eggs. Not a different ending (Grace still left). I'm not totally sure though; some googling might help?

ManicMatt

What if you like GK2 (So far) and think GK3 is more boring than spending a week staring at a wall? Where is the divide?!!
