Title: The first adventure Radio Station!
Post by: dimidimidimi on Sun 21/11/2004 20:38:07
The Inventory Radio is now live! You can listen to adventure tunes all day long. Head over to the front page of www.theinventory.org and click on Tune In (above the news). What's next? Inventory TV maybe? We'll see :) More news to come soon on our birthday party, that shapes up to be the biggest online event the adventure community has ever seen.

P.S. If you have a soundtrack of an adventure game in mp3 or ogg format, that you would like to submit to our radio station, don't hesitate to contact us at theinventory@yahoo.com

Excellent station dimi! I've been listening for a bit, and I'm really enjoying it!

The only Adventure related Mp3/Ogg I have on my computer is "Itchy Eyes" from Two of a Kind. If you want it, you can have it... Hahaha.

Sweet! I only heard one seconds worth but if I had broadband I'm sure I'd tune in frequently :)

Heh, listening right now. Excellent.

Do you have a list of the songs somewhere? I'd really like to see it... I might even be able to give something new...

I love this.

What games are featured? I've only seen (heard) The Longest Journey, The Dig, Jack the Ripper, and Gabriel Knight. I think I might have to play Jack the Ripper now just because I've never heard actual singing like that in an adventure game.

Yeah, there was also LucasRadio, but that's gone now. I loved that station.

There's a list of all the songs in our forums in The Inventory section. But right now our radio plays only some of the songs that we have available for some reason that I am not aware of. Our webmaster is kind of busy right now preparing the forum party (check the other thread about that) so he will take care of it as soon as he finds some time. We will also be featuring a special programme this coming week (probably) presenting the soundtrack of Runaway.

What new were you thinking of submitting?

I think that we should get some Grim Fandango music up there. I have the mp3 soundtrack, but it can be downloaded from places. It's got alot of good songs. Also some music from AGS games would be nice. For example Pleahburg has awesome music, and I am sure many other games do too.

I think there should be an adventure radio station on a real portable radio.

Well I have quite a lot of GK music, especially GK3...

There's this site for GK3 music BTW: http://www.students.tut.fi/~judine/gk3/music.html

Ok, apparently I'm the only one who has trouble tuning in...

Can anyone help? After clicking "Tune In", I get a file transfer dialog box. If I say open, I get a .pls file in NotePad (but can't open in Media Player) with some readable gibberish. If I say download, that same file gets downloaded. Nothing more.

PS - if ever game soundtracks are needed - have a chat with QuestStudios, if you haven't already, they have lots of great soundtracks. I KNOW they're MIDI, but there's a great program called WinGroove that can turn them into MP3 quality, really. That's how I play ALL my midi files (especially my karaoke files!)
