I am shocked!!!! No attempts at saying that AGS is now abandoned, or that AGS is gonna be shareware.

Atleast say something like Lucasarts wanted to buy out AGS, or they are sueing for making an Engine similar to theres.

Or even come out and say that in reality you are Al Lowe or the guy that made Mean Streets..

Nothing though....

My guess is he is gonna do something like this in a few weeks where we would actually believe him... Try not to give us a heartattack Chris.

By the way, I put this here since this was talk of AGS and the engine. I figured it would be a general Adventure game topic. So I hope I didn't break the rules. Just move it if I did.

There was one like this earlier in the gen gen. It got gestapoed big time. I second 'spots thoughts there, this kind of ruins the fun, so there is no point in any april fools joke anymore as everybody is already waiting for it.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Or the joke is actually that there is no april fool's joke, since we were all expecting it.

Perhaps he won't post for a month and we'll all think he's dead

I've been to about 3 or 4 sites tonight that had April Fools jokes that were a blast.  But now this year on the AGS forums, i feel left out.  But wouldn't it be funny if CJ had a way to rearrange everybody's avatars, so that each member would have someone elses avatar.  That would be hilarious, well maybe not, but i've been thinking about it.

People are still falling for last year's April Fool's Joke, so why wasting time trying to outdo a classic?

Yes I received a big PM from a (now to remain anonomous) mod telling me my topic might ruin the fun if there was a joke :P

I think even an expected joke can be lots of fun. Have you read about the Google Gulp? Or seen the picture from NASA that showed they discovered water on Mars? Or the Wikipedia hostile takeover by Brittannica? I seriously doubt many people would believe any of them (still, there's one born every minute) but they're absolutely hilarious.

Google Gulp was a joke? DAMNIT!

SSH

Adevnture Gamers Underground had a completely ridiculous and unfeasible April 1 joke.

Hehe, yeah. I like Google's April Fool's joke last year when they did that totally unbelievable offer where they promised free mailboxes with 1 gig stora...

Oh wait...

Actually, I did have an april fools thing planned for the site, but unfortunately it wasn't something I bothered backing up and then when my hard drive crashed last week it was lost.

I did think about some sort of post like last year's, but that one worked rather too well to the point where everyone would have been expecting it this year. So yes, AGS has passed fool-free for one year :P

Still, I hope you all had some good fooling one way or another. I did post my housemate an eviction notice, and take a hip flask into work and serrupticiously sip from it all morning, so can't claim to have missed April Fools completely  :)

Yeah well, I didn't know if CJ was planning anything, so I thought I'd cover up your post just in case :)

I wouldn't have even noticed that if it weren't for Vel checking the FoY site yesterday. I just brought it to more people's attention via my news post.

Gilbert

Well Grundislav did start a joke thread in the Games in Production, until someone ruined the fun...

Vel

Heh yeah, that was pure accident, AGA.
