Icey, no need to pretend you know what Geocities was. :P

Oh, and Ponch, your site is missing a link to Internet Explorer 4, the only real browser.

Icey

@monkey: that obvious huh :-[ well I do know it's some type old website design. Cause ponch said something about a navigator or something and it reminded me of these old fasion computers or browsers my cousion had spoken of.

Netscape Navigator, if you please.

I still have a little more work to do to the site -- Add a link to the OSD Web Ring, add a guest book, a link to AltaVista search, a blue ribbon (fight internet censorship!), and other things like that to give it that authentic mid 90s GeoCities feel.

And it makes me feel incredibly old to think that Icey and Frito and others were not around to experience the majesty that was the early information superhighway. Man, it was something... not something good, mind you, but something. (<-- And why do we no longer have this Roger available in our collection of smileys? Thank goodness that Tabata has her own personal pile of Rogers hidden away on the interwebs!)

Tabata

Yesterday I found a  smilie that wants to visit this thread and
I don't know why - but I couldn't say no.
He said something about not being represented enough in the thread and to be forgotten on the website ... or something like that.

Hey folks - keep cool!

OneDollar

Great website Ponch and I now have 784MB of Oceanspirit goodness to play through. One thing I noticed though, the numbering for games 10 and 11 is reversed on the site compared to the .zip files and both site links link to 11's zip. Also the link to Last Boss by Mr. Mog has expired, does anyone have a copy?

Gonna go play some OSD now... :)

Icey

Tight it did, Let me go search for it cause I think Mog had lost it to a crash and I have the only back up (If I didn't delete it by a mistake... :\ )

I just thought you weren't the best at webdesign.
I slightly remember stuff like that, Though I was about 5 or 6 at the time. So I might been a bit late to the party.
Though I remember playing shivers, phantasmagoria, hugo's house of horrors and something called hell cab or hell taxi and I think one of the mysts or a knock off.

Ponch

Okay, in no particular order...

Monkey: Thanks for the program. But I think fooling people into downloading that piece of crap constitutes a war crime.  ;)

Frito: Nobody's THAT bad at web design!  (laugh) I had to dig my old computer out of the closet to build that page. It has MS Front Page 2002 on it. It's ancient and clunky interface is perfect for this sort of work!

Icey: I have changed the links to Last Boss game and source to the backups on my server. If you find the old version, let me know and I'll change them back.

One Dollar: Thanks for pointing out the broken links. I wonder how long they've been like that?!  :-[  Also, weren't you working on an OSD game about Ray searching for Dennis? Come on and finish it, dude. I just provided one jillion megabytes (approximate) of OSD goodness for you. The least you can do is finish your Ray game.  8-)

Tabbby: Thanks for dusting off one of the old OSD Rogers!  :) Those little guys need all the exposure they can get.

Lastly, I have updated the first post with the source code for my last MAGS game, and both of the Outrage Dreamer Roads games I made last year for OROW and the followup MAGS. If you've ever wanted to see how amazingly sloppy code can be if you have only a week to throw it together, now's your chance. It's AMAZING:=

If anyone else finds any broken links. please let me know.

Icey

I found it Ponch and I also found the OSD The lost world full game too. I might have something special for Dennis tomorrow but we will see. However I will re-update the links to more most likely by 8 or 10ish but I will let you know.

EchosofNezhyt

Hehe I've some pretty bad web designs. Thats cool that you used that though. The hit counter on the side gave me a laugh.

Ponch. You never listen to me about this OSD stuff. Ever. It makes me sad. I cry myself to sleep every night because you just hate me so much.

Please. All I ask is that you put an animated GIF of the IE4 logo on your page linking to the IE4 download. That's all I want.

If you don't comply, I will start killing puppies, kittens, and newborn calves. One of each every 30 seconds until you change your mind. You have 45 minutes.

Nonono, you should put one of those javascript bits on it that blows up your computer if you're running internet exploder. Browser Wars time!

It's like Oceanspirit Dennis himself uttered this sentence!  :cheesy:

Good job capturing the mid-to-late 90s webpage style Ponch. :)  Brings back horrible, horrible memories.

No one cared about browser wars back then. It was...a simpler time.

Hell, put a link to Netscape Navigator too. But you need one for IE4 or your page will never be authentic.

Shouldn't the backdrop remain fixed when scrolling?
