Well, another weekend is upon us. Will the forums stay up this weekend? Or, like last weekend, are we in for another forum-less few days, filled with weeping and gnashing of teeth? ;)
Did the powers that be ever release an official story about what happened? I'd search for it, but the search function doesn't seem to work anymore. :=
Was it the Illuminati? Or the Freemasons? Was Scientology? Or were the forces of Anonymous behind our terrible suffering? And who stole our search function? Was it ninjas? Who keeps stealing our functionality? And what happened to all that effort that went into redesigning the front page? Why did that never come to pass?
I think we can all agree that every one us of is on the verge of panic as, minute by minute, the weekend draws nearer and the specter of uncertainty and lack of forum access looms large over our incredibly important corner of the web.
Is there anything we can do to help, to prevent this sort of thing from happening again? Why, if only there were some group of dedicated AGSers working behind the scenes, outside the law if necessary (like Batman! :D), to do what they can to make the AGS forums (and by extension, the entire world) a better, safer, more stable place.
The sort of place where you can leave your doors unlocked at night; where everyone knows their neighbor; where pooper scooper laws are enforced under pain of death; where children can play in traffic without consequence; and where search functions always work, RON games experience a renaissance, and the forums never go down.
I want to believe in such a world, AGS Community! And I know you do too!
But what is to be done? ... And by whom? (Dramatic music)
I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope that a secret group of AGS superstars are working towards this better tomorrow. :)

I'm pretty sure it's 90% ready. I asked the Lord of the ring what is happening with the new website at Mittens. And he agreed it would be good to get it up and rolling. If I remember correctly - this was during a pub visit - he said there was only one major thing holding it back like connecting the DB to it or something. However, I may be recalling things that were never said, courtesy of alcohol. Presumably Darth would need to finish up some stuff on it. It's already in some Google searches... so I agree, it'd be good to finally get it live :)

Don't be so cynical and jaded, Ascovel! I believe in the goodness (and sexiness) of the AGS Community! Why, even now there may be benevolent (and sexy) forces at work, doing what they can to make these forums a safer, more stable, more search function enabled place to be (while wearing leather pants, if you're into that sort of thing). No one can know for sure, of course. But I expect we'll hear more from this noble, sexy group soon enough. 8)

And I agree totally. I think it's safe to assume that this is pure libel (or is it slander? I can never keep those two straight). I think the best thing for us to do is to simply ignore these scandalous rumors and certainly not give in to the irresistible temptation to speculate wildly about the rumors of an AGS Secret Society and try our hardest not to imagine what sort of sexy, mysterious, leather pants wearing adventures they're almost certainly getting up to while the rest of us are living safe, boring, much more sensible pants wearing lives.
An AGS Secret Society, if it exists at all (and I'm certain it does not), is no place for good, decent folk such as ourselves. And anything this AGS Secret Society might be planning behind the scenes, with the help of powerful, also as yet unidentified and unbearably sexy moderators and bloggers, is something that doesn't concern any of us good, decent folk of the AGS Community, who have much better things to do with our time than speculate about shadowy, provocative groups working even now towards some unbearably exciting goal.

It saddens me to see a publication that I respected so much stoop to such low "journalism" as the conspiracy theory rubbish we see here. To then further insult its readership by supporting this nonsense by printing "photographs" of these accused which, let's be honest, have been censored to the point where they are completely unrecognizable is appalling.
That a once informative, entertaining source of news as AGS Today has apparently been overtaken by muckrakers is most unfortunate - were it not for the continued high standard of the features on the third page, I'm saddened to admit that I'd stop reading completely.

Actually, I believe cat is referring to another rumor that was running about here, regarding another secret society of AGSers that is unrelated to the bakers dozen.
I am quite confident these are two completely different societies with different goals in mind, though there might be some overlap in its members (or actually not, since both societies do not really exist).
