I was browsing my local video game store in the PC section looking for a decent adventure game, when i came upon a game called Wanted: A Wild Western Adventure by the Adventure Company.

This game is really awesome and looks really good.Ã,  It's pretty much a point and click adventure game but set in a wild west 3D world.Ã,  I feel so at home playing this game because you do have a normal inventory and are solving puzzles to move further into the game.Ã,  I have to admit i never heard of this game and am completely shocked at how good it is.Ã,  I think the one thing that sold me was the box said "Monkey Island in the Old West"

I think this is something any old school adventure game player should check out, and especially if you are a fan of the old west.

Just wanted to let my fellow AGSer's know about this in case they never knew about this game like me.

Shawn

edit: I also bought the new Leisure Suit Larry game for the Xbox.Ã,  I would not call this an adventure game.Ã,  It's just PORN!!Ã,  :)

Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

It's fully 3D, but there are only certain times when you can enter 1st person mode and look around.

If you visit the big adventure gaming sites, you can read a lot about it. (They've been writing about it for quite a while now.) There is also a demo available.

Word on the street is that it's a good game, except for the arcade sequences.

"Wanted: A Wild Western Adventure"? But aren't those screenshots from Fenimore Fillmore, The Westerner? Or are they both the same game, like "Missing: Since January" and "In Memoriam"?

Kay. Is it really that good? Because the previous Fenimore Fillmore adventure, by Revistronics, 3 Skulls of the Toltecs, has got to be one of the worst games I've ever played.

I just played the demo and I would recommend at least that. I'm not sure about running out and buying it or anything but it was pretty fun. The demo will only cost you about 20 mins of your life so if you don't mind sparing it I would say.. Give it a go!

Rui 'Trovatore' Pires

I'm still skeptical... 3 Skulls of the Toltecs was also pretty damn good, or so I thought when I started playing it. Only when I dug deeper did I realize it just didn't work...

...I think I'll hunt around for some reviews.

QuandaryLand.com seemed to give it a fairly favorable review:

Of course they also mentioned they enjoyed "Toltecs" too.
Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!"
Mongol General: "That is good."

I personally loved Toltecs, but then again I love all adventure games.  I can't wait to play this!!!! ;D

Well, I quite trust the Just Adventure reviews...

Think you'd be the first :)

QuoteFor those of you who only glance at the beginning of a review and then quickly skip to the bottom to see the final grade, I want to start with this caveat so there is no misinterpreting the final score: I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU PURCHASE THIS GAME! There are three exceptions to this caveat:

I have only played about 1-2 hours into it, so i haven't reached some parts which i read were really difficult.Ã,  If that happens, i guess it's back in the box and to only collect dust.

Sounds like the reviewer just plain sucks at video games in general. Even if one section of the game is so horrible they can't stand it a brilliant statement like..

"I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU PURCHASE THIS GAME!"

Is a bit extreme. I can find something extremely annoying that could make almost any person want to quit many adventure games so.. oh well. I am not saying I am a huge fan of action sequences and I haven't even played the one they are complaining about but I have gotten stuck on much worse problems in a video game and I still came out loving it.

As well I agree with Puddin' I have found myself thinking "What the hell is wrong with this person?" on many occasions reading JA reviews/articles.

Edit:
"...one is stone-cold impossible for the typical adventure gamer who dabbles minimally (if at all) into the action/FPS realm."

That is such a ridiculous statement that yet again I find myself thinking What the hell is wrong with this person? That is like saying QFG is stone-cold impossible unless you dabble in RPG's. CRAZINESS!

Edit 2.0:
Just cause I'm a bitch..

I can see a bit of woody in him too. In fact the whole game has a bit of a toy story feel to it. The humor is a bit hit and miss but appropriate.

Domino

Well i consider myself good at most genre's of games, so i guess i shouldn't worry.

but offtopic:

Doesn't Fenimore Fillmore look a little bit like Woody from Toy Story?Ã,  I couldn't get this out of my mind the whole time i was playing.Ã,  Don't know, but i kept hearing Tom Hanks voice instead.Ã,  :)

Sylpher, I agree that most of the reviews in Just Adventure sound a bit iffy - I read reviews that made me wonder if the reviewer actually thought the whole world shared his/her opinion as a divine right. But no review I've read of a game that I had already played was unfair. Even if I'd loved the game and they had hated it, like in Harvester, I could understand their points and mostly agree with them. It's kinda like Phantasmagoria - it's super sleazy, and super outdated, and all that, but everyone still loves it. Why? Don't know. Don't care.
