Title: The Wolf Among Us
Post by: frenzykitty on Tue 22/10/2013 06:05:46
So I picked this up yesterday, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Anyone else played it? Thoughts? I'll post updates once I have played it through but at first glance it seemed promising.

I hope they're going for more something along the lines of their true adventure games such as Sam and Max or Tales of Monkey Island... but without the awful movement interface of the latter.  I'll be interested to see what you think of this one.

I played a few minutes and it feels and plays pretty much exactly like TWD...

This is definitely a game for us who love adventure games focused on story, characters, and setting.

I can understand those who turn to adventure games for the puzzles being a bit disappointed in Telltale's Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, because they cut that out almost completely.

Me, I love and adore these games and I wouldn't have them any other way. Never finished the new Monkey Island and Sam & Max games from Telltale because I found the old fashioned adventure game mechanics too tedious, and the humour falling completely flat to me.

Now if they would just make a game like this set in the Mass Effect universe. They could do away with most of the combat and focus almost solely on the story and character development, and there'd be a game many of us Mass Effect fans could enjoy the hell out of!

Where did you come from, you freaks of nature, and why have you messed up my favorite genre!? >:(

Fortunately there's plenty of room on these infinite digital shelves for games everyone can enjoy! :-D

The only limit is the rate at which we make 'em.

Any more opinions?  I'm on the fence for getting this one, not a concern money-wise but if the game is worth it time-wise.

I loved the TWD, but to hell with TT if they think I'm gonna wait 6 months for the complete game to come out. So I'll wait.

I hate the gameplay, but I really love the narrative and characters. It's an old fashioned detective mystery pulp adventure story. I can't say it's more explicit or violent than any of those because the pulp novels back in the 50s could get pretty gruesome.

I think the story is more worthwhile than the Walking BOREDOM lolololo anyway.
