Lately I have come across some really well developed AGI (Sierra's old adventure game engine) games.  The game that stood out for me was "Tonight the Shrieking Corpses Bleed"

Storyline:
You play the role of John Mordred, the garbageman, in the town of Memory, where the dead sleep uneasily. Most of the townspeople have gotten accustomed to the phenomenon, but not John Mordred! Oh no, he's going to stop these corpses whether it be by blowing their heads off with a shotgun or tearing them to pieces with his bare hands!

Review:
So far of what I have played this game is very well done, it reminds me of Police Quest meets Return of the Living Dead.  The puzzles are logical, the atmosphere is excellent for an AGI game and it even has a mini battle engine when you fight a zombie.  Highly recommended for horror movie buffs and nostalgic buffs.  Highly recommended

Play his Tex McPhilip games... I loved them so hard and I'm quite excited for his 3rd installment!

I like it so far. The exploration is nice. Biggest downside are the generic locations, in terms of graphics.

Yeah the graphics are quite generic, but i still enjoy the game.  Good to hear from you Chrille

I assume you've finished it. If so, what must I do to give the main character a reason to follow the path into the woods in the park? I'm certain one of the missing people is there. I've found the two others.

I haven't got that far...

I started playing it last night for a few hours and I found it quite enjoyable so I decided to put a post up on the forum.  If anyone knows anything of a walkthrough being written for this game I would love to get a hold of it.

Loved this game. Just downloaded it and finished it. The puzzles are logical and the game can be finished without trial and error. Good atmosphere and excellent story (to me, this is more important than nice graphics).

I found that when fighting save/restore is always possible, also in catacombs (sure it was not intended that one can save here). And when saving and restoring during fight, it is possible to cheat and never loose any health point. These are minor issues, though.

Anybody still interested in a complete walkthrough?

Tex McPhillip? You said TexMcPhillip?!!

I MUST play that.

Perfect! Zombie games are what I love...
But I got a problem. Must I have an AGI tool to play? There's no .EXE.

Thanks in advance,

You can always try NAGI, not to mention this thread is 8 months old...

Snake

Thanks, Gilb...

Like an ass I happened to find it a second ago :(
Sorry about the nonsence post.

Sorry to bump this again but I wanted to comment on how cool this game is. I love it.

But I'm stuck.
If anyone can help that would be great:
I'm guessing I need to get inside the farm house now.
My inventory includes:
elixir, shovel, rope, crucifix, bottle of kerosene & matches.
I'm guessing I'll need a rag or something to make a motolov coctail.
Can someone give me a hint on what to do next?
From what I've ventured, I need to get inside that house.

Thanks in advance,

Chrille

Hmm, unless I'm mistaken, there's something hidden nearby that will get you inside the farmhouse.

I loved this game too.

Thanks, Chrille.

Yeah, this game kicks ass. It's well done. I wish there were more zombie games ;)

I liked this game a lot. The fighting got a little repetitive, but otherwise it was very well done. There's something special about AGI games. (ENCLOSURE! WOO!)Ã,

A walkthough would be good!

Chrille

Sorry to dig up this old thread again, but I was wondering if anyone still has this game on their computer. I feel like playing it again, but I only found one working link on the web but it leads to a demo it seems.

I googled it and found an Atari ST rom which I could play fine using Steem. A bit convoluted maybe but works.

Chrille

I never noticed that floppy, thanks Khris. I downloaded the ROM, extracted its contents using an MSA/ST-tool and then launched the game in ScummVM. Works like a charm!

You might also give the Grandad games a try by Ian Scott.  He put them out in the early 90's as shareware but I think the versions I have had the protection removed.  I've uploaded them here if you're interested.
