Title: TUTOR ME!
Post by: FruitTree on Mon 25/08/2003 16:26:51
okay, I'll be real carefull with this, since that discussion about help threads is going on and all but I believe it's allright if I post this see,
I'm looking for a mentor, I finally found out the main reason why I practicly never finish a game.
the reason's simple: I know to little of AGS.
therefor I'm looking for a mentor, to help me.
generally I'm looking for some one who can help me enhance my AGS skills aswell as my drawing skills (I really want to learn how to use something else then MS paint).
so if you're:
-pretty good with AGS
-know how to work other drawing programs but paint
-are a nice bloke
help me out here!  ;D
you can contact me through private messages or email (fruittree86@hotmail.com) or just simply reply here.
that's all for now!

Make a tutorial, Evil. I like to look at tracing, it reminds me of french comics and the style isn't widely used in games (apart from Uncertainty Machine).

Fruit free... I´ll tell you what are we going to do. My girlfriend is pushing because she wants me to tech her in drawing... We will do it together, as soon as I finish my exams I´ll start a post about graphics improvement. It will be as follows:

1) I´ll post a pic (Photo cartoon)
2) I´ll publish my gf´s version and everybody who wants will have the chance to upload his version to.
3) I´ll say how to arrange the style deppending on what I´ve seen. (In a "loominous style", making my own version and what I did to fix the mistakes...)
4) You´ll publish pics till we get what we want.

Do you agree? I finish my exams in early September.

though I'm not really looking to improve my drawing skills, I want to learn other drawing programs  ;D

but I still like your idea, and I'll surely participate
(is that correct english?)

Heh, I know AGS like the back of my hand...

... that hand being the one I lost in Nam which I havn't seen for several years, but I know quite a bit, but instead of starting a new thread, I'm looking for an art mentor, one to help me develop general drawing skills, such as perspective, shading etc... and general practicing. Could someone maybe set me examples or exercise's and coach me along?

Yeah Fruitfree, we will work also drawing paintings, we will make all the process, from paper to pixelization, for create backgrounds from nothing.

I think it could be some kind of "curse" or something... Search for pupils!

P.S. Yur inglish is perfekt as long as I can andestant.

Well, the outlineing thing is basicly outlining a photo with an AA line tool... Then there is the coloring... Mostly a long thing, not hard... I'll throw something together...
