Title: Video about dynamic music in games
Post by: Ghormak on Mon 10/11/2003 21:51:53
The link (3.6mb WMV) (http://www.jameshannigan.co.uk/Republic.wmv)

James Hanningan, game music composer, has put a 6 minute video clip on his site where he talks about integrating music in PC games in an iMuse kind of way.

In this video, he specifically talks about Republic: The Revolution. I have played the game, and unfortunately the game itself is a bit boring, but the music is absolutely stunning, and it works perfectly to set the mood.

Personally, I think good music is very important in adventure games. The interactive/dynamic way it's done in Republic (as talked about in the video) makes music sound even better.

It's an interesting video, even with some technical info near the end. Well worth the look.

Snake, I listened to it and then managed to see it. You're not missing anything, the visuals don't add much. It's what he's saying that counts.

Nice video Ghormak, thanks for sharing!
