Why the hell didn't I win worst n00b? I'm offended.

Ishmael

You should have held the ceremony a day later, says I.
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

Try harder, Elliott! There's always next year!

Anyway, I say it should have been advertised better, like, a large countdown with red numbers at the top of the main page and forums a week before the ceremony took place. And the fact that some people said they didn't know that the awards were held at that very evening proves my point.

It just proves people are incapeable of reading threads that have "AGS Awards" in the topic. :P

Tell you what, had I not been on IRC all the time, I wouldn't have known that the awards took place at that very time. Yes, I dont often check threads that are already 4-5 pages long. :P

There was a big notice on the day of the awards, as well as the voting notice before that which took you to a thread which probably had the date in. The notice even had a clock to tell you how many hours.

Vel

Yes, but that was put like, 5-6 awards before the actual ceremony. So if I had went out that afternoon/evening , I'd have most probably missed them.

Nacho

Who cares? There's a log, and CJ himself missed them. It's not a big tragedy. I was witness that the winner of the best game award was pursuing alligators at the time he was receiving the prize.

Relax everybody.  :)
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

But did he really piss it off?

I agree, it should be advertised better. I don't check every thread, or every forum. I think there needs to be something quite noticable on the forums' main page, and it needs to be there for at least a week before the ceremony.

I stayed up til 3:30am last year for them :/ (I fell asleep so I missed it in the end, but I tried!) I'm sorry I missed it again this year.

Did you vote? The ceremony time was in the thread which announced the nominees and gave links to the voting pages. If you voted, you would have read that thread.

I think the problem is really the way forums are currently designed. You have to be constantly digging for information, almost like the way you used to browse Yahoo! for websites before search was finally invented. I think moderators should be able to mark important events like these on the forum calendar if possible, though it's mostly overwhelmed by regulars and non-active members' birthdays.

In conclusion, it's all kind of messy right now.

Better advertised? There was a great big sign at the top of every page with a countdown to the awards and voting information and everything for ages! How did you miss it?

Would you like CJ to personally come and staple a reminder to your forehead next year? :P

Thanks, probably for the best -- it wasn't looking too great next to my Oscars and Baftas in the cabinet.
