Well, I've been working a lot on my adventure game, and it has just suddenly dawned on me... what will I do with it when I'm done? I suppose I'll post it here, on the AGS Forums, and some of you will download it, and probably most not like it, maybe some of you will like it, maybe alot, unlikely. But then what?...

big brother

Then you get a job in the industry and make the next big game like The Sims or Half-Life!

Isn't AGS exciting?

You make the sequel!

The Inquisitive Stranger

Promote it to more places than the AGS forums. Like Adventure Gamers... or Adventure Developers...
Actually, I HAVE worked on a couple of finished games. They just weren't made in AGS.

Grapefruitologist

I'm already working on the sequel, and already planning to make a sequel of the sequel xD

There is nothing left after this.

That is why I've never completed a game. ;D
Status: Trying to come up with some ideas...

If you are a bit dubious about posting your game, how about sending to a couple of people to try out and get their feedback. Depending on the size of course..
I am new to game building myself and think you should brave it and post it.. Then if It's that bad I won't feel the odd one out when I complete my first game.
what could you lose?
Good Luck

Post it, what the hell. From looking at reviews on this site it seems people are generally encouraging with their posts. Any or most negative feedback you will get will be constructive critisism on how you can improve your game, or do things differently next time.

Beyond that? Set up your own website for the game, and get your site linked into any freeware gaming sites.

Most of all, just the fact you've actually made a game yourself will be such a rewarding and satisfying experience in my opinion the act of making it in itself is its own reward.

Then you can start another one! :)

At the end of the day, we're all here because we love 2D point-and-clickies and it's all of our duties to make as many games as we can physically make to keep the genre alive. The fact that AGS is such an empowering tool means that anyone here can make the type of game they've always wanted to make. So whether 1 person or 1000 people like your game isn't so much the point as the fact that there are hundreds of games to download here, each reflecting the thoughts and ideas of a massive number of people and personalities. Smashing, isn't it?

Have you played Anything i've released? Then If so, yours should be better. If not, the god, do not release it!!!

If you are unsure of what i mean by this, you are stupid or something. It means if you release anything, it will be welcome. Dont fear critisism. You made the game for yourself, but share it.
