What will work with the Mac Runtime?

Hi all,

This is my first post.  I recently discovered AGS and think that this is fantastic.  I don't have the time or knowledge to make games but would love to play them on the Mac.  I downloaded the runtime, but have not found a single game that will play.  I have searched this site for help running on a mac, but have not found anything that gives much information on AGS and Mac.

Is there a way to find out which games will work on the runtime?  For instance it SEEMS like any game made with AGS versions before 2.5 do not work and any games made with 2.72 do  not work.  I may be wrong with that, but I believe thats what I have read.  Also, some of the games download as a single EXE file.  The Mac runtime will not even attempt to run these.  Is there any way to extract these games?

I know this is a lot of questions, but like I said, I haven't seen too much useful info on the Mac AGS front, and I don't want to keep downloading things that won't work.

Thanks for your time.

I don't have any experience with a Mac, but a quick search in the forums indicate that all games made with versions later than 2.5 should work with the runtime. Sometimes you need to tweak the setup file that comes with the game. What errors are you getting? Also, what games have you tried?

Weeellll... Macs are now running Windows and Mac side by side. But I'm assuming frlane doesn't have that option. :P

However, frlane, if all else fails, you might want to consider running a Windows emulator. That should do it.

I found this thread, but it appears to only support games up to 2.71, which precludes most recent ones. Is the mac runtime still under development?
