The Video Game Awards are on tonight.

Tonight, in the USA at least, on Spike TV, the Video Game Awards are on, hosted by David Spade.  The first thing off, they announced that Madden 2004 won game of the year.  I never thought a sports game could win game of the year, especially over games like Splinter Cell, and such.
or other adventure games. I'll keep you posted on other game winners, as they happen.

This is an unconventional award show. They annouced the game of the year before the host, David Spade, even took the stage.

I've always disliked sports games, because if I wanted to play sports I would go outside and go play...sports....

Another problem I've always had with them is that you can either play the computer (which is usaully too damn hard) or play with a friend...who dosen't own the game, so obviously won't be able to keep up with you...

So, I say sports games are crap and shouldn't get any awards...heh

the video game awards are on again tonight, and heres the verdict: this must be a joke.

It seems more like a celebrity circus than a video game award show.  It seems the main focus is not on video games, but entertainers, wrestling, rap music, sexy cheerleaders (well thats okay), porn stars and a bunch of overrated actors and actresses.

If this were the gong show, i would have hit the gong about a hundred times already. I love Video Games, and this is a slap in the face to the industry. Who were the people who voted for the games that won. I mean c'mon Madden 2004 as Game of the Year. That alone, makes me sick. How did the Matrix game even win, this game got some of the worst reviews ever, plus it was full of glitches, and i even read that the game would crash all the time.

oh, and best fighting game being smackdown. give me a break. Right now i'm watching wrestling, because it seemed that people would be more interested in wrestling than video games. (if ya didn't know, they had a wrestling match during the awards)

Maybe when the WWE hands out awards, they should show people just playing games. Well thats my 2 cents, and Spike TV should be ashamed of theirselves for this garbage they are shoving down my throat right now.

Even Ray Liotta looked embarrassed to be there.

I'd been looking forward to the show also. I suffered through the crappy show leading up to the awards, and waited patiently while Spade walked into the building to approach the podium... only to see some damned blacks talking as though they still had bags of <random streetdrug- I'm an innocent suburban girl, what do I know of drugs> under their tongues. Then rap? Rap?! What the FUCK (pardon my french) does rap have to do with videogames? What is there to keep real when it comes to videogames? I should have been listening to midis, or Videogame hits of the 80's and 90's or something. Hell, a sample of music from a recent Mario game would have been great!

Needless to say, I immediatly flipped through all the other channels, was disgusted that nothing was on, and read a book instead.

And yes, I despise black people. Thank you for your indignation, it is totally just.

TV Video Game Awards are made by Greedy, Megalomaniac corporate humans (pigs are too cool to be insulted like that =P) who haven't touched a proper game in their life. They probably just picked names from a hat. Or their... as I was saying. They are just like polititians. Waving their metaphorical arms around, sugar coating the excrement of the games industry. We should never trust them. SMASH THE SYSTEM! OMNIBRAIN OUT! =P

The thing is, my favorite movie is more than a year old, but that doesn't stop me from REALLY enjoying the Oscars every year. If only they had put EFFORT into the Video Game Awards, maybe they'd be watchable.
